Text messages-additional vibrate

Heres the situation.

I got Samsung Galaxy S4 on May 21st, I activated it...I set it up; went into the Messaging App and settings and added some features...one being a 'repeat reminder every10minutes' and also a Preview on the Locked Screen.

So what did that do? First off:

If screen is locked and I receive 1 text message from 1 person, it shows who sent it and a few words of their message.  If two people have texted me it will say Person A, Person B and say 2 messages

Next of course, if someone texts me at 7:03pm but I just glanced at the phone but didnt clear the message at 7:13 it will beep me again.

Follow so far? Good I hope!!!

Now then.  What I noticed is that if a person texts me but I do not clear the SMS after a few seconds to a few minutes after they have texted me and I pick up device it will Vibrate at me.

You see that?  Its exactly what the message of this thread says.......Blue LED flashing...someone texted me moments ago...I picked up phone and BAM Vibrate.

I loved that feature; made me love my S4 more and more.

Now I was noticing a battery drain, at first i thought it was my replacement battery cause when I received it Friday i immediately put in and saw the drain right there.  So after 2 days I went back to original battery and saw a drain again. So my only conclusion is that I personally messed up my phone somewhow....downloaded an app maybe? Or Updated apps is what I think it was so what did I do?

Factory Reset...Factory Restore...aka Format....so I erased everything and I re set up device.

But heres a problem. I cannot figure out how to re enable the additional Vibrate when I receive a message while the screen is locked..  Remember what I wrote above?  When a person texts me; I hear a beep (sound); I feel it vibrate...I even see the preview on the locked screen. But leaving it alone; even after a few minutes I pick up device and I dont have that additional vibration

I WANT IT BACK lol

I'm talking to Samsung Tech Support via Live Chat right now and so far I'm not having any results.  Does anyone know how to reactivate this feature?  Is it under Air Gesture or something?

Press Menu

Select the My device tab (at the top of the screen)

Look for Motions and gestures and select it

I have all three turned ON, but the one that you need is the Motion turned ON.

Tap on the word Motion and it will open up additional settings

Make sure that Smart alert is turned on (this will turn on the vibration that you are looking for)

Awesome!!!! Thank you very very much, reading about the 'Smart Alert' is the one I was looking for.

When I did a reformat I had unchecked everything to sustain my Battery but I wasnt sure what I was disabling LOL

Right now even though Motion is Enabled, I'm still getting good battery usage.

Doesnt look like i"ve reported it so.....I've seen 16hrs off charger and 55% +  or the most I've seen is 20hrs off charger with 55% remaining.

And actually right now I have 18.5hrs off charger with 68% remaining.

When I was getting my battery drain....16hrs off charger and I'd be down around 55% so something was happening. I still re charge phone around 8 or 9 o'clock at night regardless of %  when I go to bed at midnight but still; Galaxy S4  is awesome on Battery...far better than Droid Razr
