The volume on the speakerphone is low

I'm pretty sure I have all available volume controls set to max but the speakerphone volume is very low. Am I missing something or do I need to get the phone checked out?

Is it muffled sounding too or just low?  Does music or other audio sound ok or also a problem?

If it is only when on a call it could also be the other end of the line.  If it is the speaker, try a reset, or power down and pull out the battery for 10 minutes.  Similar issues have been seen on the S5 (my daughters phone even) and in some cases a reset or battery pull has fixed it.  In her case it wasn't all that it just started working correctly a few hours later with no known reason.

It's just a low volume situation. After reading your reply, I powered down and removed & replaced the battery. A quick test with wife's phone was good the first time but when I tried again the volume went back and forth between low and good with no consistency. I'm baffled. I could go to the local VZW store but I fear they won't help because I didn't get the phone there. I bought it through the Sam's club Kiosk. I'll try to test it again when I get another incoming call.  Thanks for you help.

Any VZW (corporate store at least) should be willing to take a look at it regardless of where it is purchased. If it is less than 1 year and turns out to be a warranty issue that is where you end up taking it anyway.

Manufacturing Defect

A manufacturing defect is something that's wrong with the device itself (e.g., internal, electrical or functional problems). It doesn't include physical damage caused by outside forces.

Your options for replacing a device with a manufacturing defect are based on how long it's been since you purchased the device. Visit My Verizon to verify how long you have had your device or to view when you are eligible to upgrade.

  • Less than 1 year since purchase

The device will be replaced at no cost. If it's been more than 15 days since purchase, it'll be replaced with a Certified Like-New Replacement (a like unit or one of comparable quality).

Call (866) 406-5154 from a phone other than the one you're experiencing a problem with (toll-free from a landline phone) or visit a Verizon Wireless store to verify your eligibility.

press the button on the right side the one you use to turn off the phone and check your sound settings there to see if the sound button is lit, that's what happened to me it was on the mute button.

I hope this helps
