I would highly recommend not removing your insurance feature because devices are very expensive and retail up to $900.00. Does this provide clarity? AmberF_VZW

If you mean does it require a renewed contract, no. Verizon stopped using contracts over 2 years ago. You can switch plans, buy new phones, add or delete features without change to your length of commitment (month to month). The only long term obligations are installments on phones, which you can pay off at any time.
