Unable to text

I'm having the same problem. Cannot receive any texts. I'm using the installed sms app (no 3rd party app). Not getting any texts at all.

Hello there, AlvinM! Sorry to hear you're having difficulty getting text messages. I have the Galaxy S III as well and also use the preloaded messaging app, but haven't seen a problem of this kind at all. I'm happy to help but need to ask for some details.

Can you describe some of the things you've seen so far? Are there error messages instead of the texts when someone sends to you? If so, what do they say? Of the contacts that send messages to you, are any also VZW customers? Does this happen purely with new messages, reply messages or both? Are you able to send messages? Do you know if there are any time-of-day restrictions place on your line but the Account Owner (assuming that's not you)?

Actually it turns out it was just iPhones that couldn't send me texts. It was because my previous phone was an iPhone 4 so I a had to turn the imessage phone number off and I started to get messages again. Thanks for your help.
