How do I upgrade to an unlimited plan for my phone without having to get a separate plan for my tablet? I don't need a data plan for my tablet.

You should consider canceling the line associated with the tablet. Once that line has been canceled and dropped from your bill, you can change your plan to the unlimited plan you are considering.
