When I conext my phone to my pc and try to get pics it says no new pictures or videos found

I know that I love uploading my pictures from my phone to my computer. I'm eager to get to work. When was the last time that you were able to successfully download pictures onto your computer? What operating system are you using on your computer? Are you using the native picture application on your device or a third party photo app?
