My friend just got the 4.3 update this morning (NY) 12/04/13. I saw the 4.3 version in the settings. He said that things are working well so far. Fyi.
We can hope
nothing here so far kies so nothing either
I haven't received 4.3 yet either but if I didn't see it on his phone, I wouldn't have believed it. Maybe they are sending it to a few customers to test it out. We'll see.....
I believe you, Sometimes Verizon has cold feet and they will push out a firmware update slowly to see how it takes
any chance of getting a build number should be under status
I have it on my S4 with no Issues
They usually push on fridays so i would figure over the next few days
All i suggest is when anybody gets the update i would hard reset your phone a couple of times back up any sd card info format card so you have a clean install and any remnants of 4.12 are gone
Any possibility you or your friend could share a screenshot? We're all so gun shy now...
Yea... let's see a screenshot and get that guy over to XDA!!!
I should see my friend late tonight . I will try and get the build # & /or screen shot.
This is good news, if it is true. I can't believe Verizon has strung us along in the dark while the other carriers have at least attempted to update their phones.
Yay! This is exciting. I've been un-patiently waiting for this.
I can't seem to post the picture of the system info page from my friends Verizon gs3. But here is the build #...
JSS15J.L710VPUBMK5.
What does this tell us? Is this any different than the earlier 4.3 version?
I think JSS15J.L710VPUBMK5 is for Sprint/Virgin Mobile. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I just noticed that my friends gs3 model # is different than mine. I Googled his model # which is SPH-L710. This model # shows this phone model is possibly a Sprint phone. He said again today his service is Verizon. I hope he isn't messing with me. I apologize if this causes inconvenience to anyone.... Can anyone advise? I have a cell phone camera picture of his phone info page but can't seem to post it here.
he swears his services Verizon
That looks to be a Virgin Mobile build

I spoke to a Verizon rep, via live chat. He said that they are still testing the update to assure that it won't cause problems with customer devices. They are expected to roll out the 4.3 update within the next few weeks, but he could not confirm a specific date.
Funny, because I just spoke to one, and they claim they have no information on an update. So where did you get your information? They claim they have no release date, and no information about any update for the S3.
Has Verizon made any comment on this at all, or are they just keeping customers completely in the dark to speculate while all other major carriers have received the upgrade? Even a generic "..Please be patient while we..." would be nice.
Verizon has been my carrier for the past eight years and the support, service continues to decrease and of course the cost increases. So I"am not surprised that the Samsung s3 is still not available and no news of when we can expect.
When my contract ends I will be moving to another carrier, all the best who stays with Verizon as the provider.
In other words, when they say they are testing it to make sure it doesnt break the device, what they are really saying is, we want to make sure it works well with all the bloatware we are going to add to it.
I don't blame you for leaving. I'm almost tempted to go back to Sprint. My co-worker has the same phone but with them, and he has the update, watched him load it up in the office. Let's not even mention the fact that they still have unlimited data, but the jerks at Verizon took it not even 6 months after I was sucked into the contract...If my anger hadn't gotten the best of me I'd still have Sprint and could have this phone running 4.3 instead of being told that they have no information...So sick of Verizon, and their stupid forum propagandists...."Updates are exciting....click this stupid link here to be directed to BS information you couldn't care less about."
Take a HINT Verizon....we're sick of your **. Give us real information. If you aren't releasing it tell us, we're all adults. If you are but you're busy "testing" it (aka loading your bloatware), then tell us. You know we're just going to >>comments removed<< btw....dont count on my to "EDGE" myself into a new phone running 4.3 or to renew my contract if you can't keep your updates on point with everyone else....

I completely agree with you. They've definitely dropped the ball on this whole update thing. I've called in a number of times ive been told a wide variety of things ranging from: We have no idea when it will launch or wait there's an update for the galaxy s3? and its in the final stages of testing, and should be released within the week ( i was told this a week ago) This all coming from Level 2 tech support. We just want answers 1. Is there a 4.3 update? 2. WHEN will it be available. also please stop with the generic responses of check this site http://www.verizonwireless.com/news.html regarding any update. We just want information, no generic statements or responses. Simply put how would VZW feel if we called in and said oh our bill? we will pay that when we see fit rather than the day its actually due. As you can see through the numerous threads crated on this forum as well as others we just want to get a estimated date on an OTA.
I completely agree with Parth's statement here. Communication is key. I realize that you have some legal restraints (or perceived legal restraints) regarding releasing detailed information about the upgrade. That being said, you can certainly tell us something. I think we would all be ok with something like "we are working on it and we hope to have it to you before XXX."
As it stands, your company is looking very foolish because all of your major (and several minor) competitors have issued their versions of this software update with apparently little or no difficulty. So this makes your claim to be testing it to ensure we don't get a buggy release sound a bit hollow...or worse, that your people not as skilled as their peers at the other companies who seem to be able to release this software to no ill effect. I think you are better than this. Please prove that I am right.
Thank you.
P.S. Please don't reply to this post with "upgrades are exciting" or "we like upgrades, too." Those kinds of responses are patronizing and inappropriate. We're mostly adults here.
