Verizon family base won't install on galaxy 6, get error that it won't install properly, can't use the family base feature.

I have been trying to limit my 11yo's texting times.   I've tried several times to install the family base companion app on his Galaxy S6.  When I have his phone and install it,  it never shows up to  'open'.  It does show up as a background app,  but when i try to manage family base either on my pc or phone app,  I receive a message that it didn't install properly on his phone and do I want a link to try again.  Trying again won't work,  believe me I've tried.   Is there an issue with the companion app on Galaxies? Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?  It's clear that  Verizon's instructions are incomplete or incorrect. This app is why we went with Verizon,  please help.

Making sure the features you need are working correctly is very important, Imalander.


Let's start from the beginning. To confirm, through My Verizon, your line is currently set as the parent line, and your son's line is currently designated as the child line, correct?


Also, when running the app, and attempting to manage the service feature, is your son's S6 connected to WiFi, or cellular data? Any difference if you test it using both services when attempting to sync with the parent app?

We also want to make sure that you can properly set up FamilyBase on your son’s phone. Have you even been able to install the application on his phone? Which exact Nexus model phone does he have?

Hi.  Thanks.   It's never installed correctly.   If I try to reinstall it says it's already installed, but there is no family base in the app lady,  and when I try use it if days is not installed.

My daughter has a galaxy s5, when I try to install family base it gives me an error that family base won't work with my device.  Am I paying for FamilyBase?  IF so, how do I get a credit back for the past year that I've been paying for an app that doesn't work on either my son's or my daughter's phones, and doesn't provide me any benefit whatsoever.  Also, what alternative, non-Verizon apps can you suggest for me to actually monitor my kids use, app installation, etc.?
