Voice command screen has turned light grey with white letters. Unreadable in text message format. Not able to change it. Any advice?

While texting and attempting to use voice messaging, our coomand area has turned light grey with white lettering. Any ideas would be appreciated. It is only in the voice command area. The messaging area we are able to change.Haven't found a way to change this and it is a pain to my eyes.

We definitely want to make sure your phone is working as it should and here to help. To be sure, are you referring to the Google Voice application or the voice to text feature while in Messaging? Also, has the color just changed or is the feature not working? Have there been any recen application or software updates recently?
