Recently my Voicemail Icon (stock) quit working. When I touch the icon a message comes up stating "Verifying Subscription Service " The message will stay on with the little circle spinning until the phone shuts down about 30 seconds later. (Shutting down is another problem probably related). I am running Kit Kat with no problems other than this one. The only way to retrieve VM is by dialing *86. All phone and messaging services are working fine.
What I have done so far without a fix:
1. Removed battery and sim card for a couple of minutes and reinstalled. Rebooted
2. Cleared Cache and Data on Voice Mail Icon. Rebooted.
3. Entered recovery mode and cleared cache. Rebooted.
4. Checked Voicemail settings and made sure it was set to *86.
Any other ideas to try would be greatly appreciated.
Let's continue troubleshooting Klue! You completed great steps. I suggest backing up the device and completing a factory reset by navigating to Settings>Accounts>Backup and reset>Factory data reset>Reset device. Please test and share. Thank you.
