Volume lowers automatically after kitkat update

Why does my volume lower by itself to nothing after kitkat update, it's never done this before. I have this problem with everything as in pandora/music app/youtube. I can pull up the volume screen and watch it drop, then if you hold the volume up button it goes up until you let go.........

Before the standard" factory reset" suggestion comes up, already did that twice......

Hi 05RC51 - Let's crank back up the volume! I appreciate you taking the steps to troubleshoot the device and complete a reset. To confirm do you currently have Palm Motion set to Mute sounds? This can be found in Settings>My Device>Palm Motion. I am eager to get this resolved!

Mute/pause option was ON,I switched it off and tried it again same problem.

The time till when the volume drops seems to vary, and the time it takes to drop again after being turned up also varies. After a drop and then being turned back up the newly set volume level has no effect on the time until the next drop.

Thank you for trying the troubleshooting step 05RC1. I was able to verify this is not a known issue with the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini after the update. It's a standard S4, no the mini. I've done the factory reset 3 times now.

Lets see what is going on! When did this problem start for you? Is it happening to your Galaxy S4 Mini or Galaxy S4? Have you updated to the newest updates?

I guess I didn't read the original post very well. I have the Galaxy S4 (not mini) and it is having problems with volume control resetting after I installed the 5.0.1 update as well as overheating issues and weird random screen issues where the screen just goes to blocks instead of numbers.
