What Samsung features are turned off

This thread is to discover what features were expected from Galaxy Note 5 and what features were actually delivered by Verizon in place of those Galaxy features?

Of particular interest to me is screen-casting or Miracast.

I noticed Samsung has Allcast but can't get it to work with a Miracast dongle works with Measy EZcast.

Other Devices I've seen have a screen cast feature built into the settings widget am I missing something here?

As a DirecTv customer looking into an ATT switch over if the Pay feature doesn't get added with VZW.

Correct this Understanding please.

Android 5.1 has x and so features;

then the manufacturer then turns off some features and adds their own features;

then the service provider turns off some features and adds their own features;

(then you root your device to get the original features back and void the warranty).

Do they do the same crap with IOS?

Jandar54- I don't have a Note 5, but just want to comment on yours. This is where a rep will respond with "I understand your feeling and we want you to be happy." Verizon has the best cellular service in my opinion but they are known for removing features as you've mentioned. And then they add bloat nonsense that you can't remove. I have been buying phones at full price and got tired of this. My current phone was bought direct from the manufacturer and I'm using it on Verizon. I've always been a fan of VZW's service, but we should have control of our phones, especially considering the price we pay. Sorry, I know this doesn't answer your concerns.

I just got my Note 5 on Saturday.

I know that the Verizon had Samsung remove Samsung Pay from the Note 5 & S6 Edge Plus. This was a feature I was looking forward to.

With Samsung Pay, you could program your phone with your credit & debit cards and the phone uses a technology called Magnetic Secure Transmission to send a magnetic signal to make the typical credit card terminal reader think the card has been swiped.

Personally, I think Verizon no longer has the right to make these decisions on our behalf. If Verizon wants us to pay full price up front or over 24 months, what gives them the right to interfere with "OUR" phones.

We should also have the right to remove their ass hat / garbage software (Verizon Cloud, VZ Navigator, etc).

My wife has an iPhone 6 and to the best of my knowledge, Verizon does not interfere with the content of an iPhone nor does their garbage software appear on the device.

This was one of the reasons I almost bought a new iPhone instead of another Android. There were others. I ended up getting the Note because I really wanted to try out MST on Samsung Pay. I knew they would approve it but I thought they would do so before the official release date. However, the fact that Verizon doesn't block features or updates or anything from an iPhone but does on Android is a major sticking point with me. I have to deal with unnecessary apps I will never use and wait for features and updates until it is developed and QA'ed by the manufacturer AND then developed and QA'ed including what I can only assume includes extensive regression testing before simple security updates or major new releases are ever pushed. It leaves us vulnerable unnecessarily.
