What can I do about the lack of coverage near my vacation home?

At first I thought it was my old phone which was an HTC one. Bought the new Samsung S7 and still am lucky to get 2 bars of 3G, while my friends and family in the same area get 2 bars of 4G all day long.

Will provide a specific address in a private conversation, but this is near Wellston MI.

did the old phone work?? are the family members/friends all on verizon??

The old phone which was an HTC One also had terrible signal with Verizon. My immediate family has AT&T and gets at least 2 bars of 4G with their various Samsung phones. I guess I can always switch carriers.

If you have broadband internet available in your home with a wifi router, you can simply activate wifi calling and you would be able to send/receive calls just fine via wifi. It won't improve outside, only inside.

As to switching carriers, that may improve service in your home, but it may worsen in other areas. No carrier has the best signal in ALL areas. You should go with the carrier which is the best for your needs which may be different than the needs of others. If that means switching carriers is the best thing to do for your needs, you should certainly do that.:smileyhappy:

There is no broadband in this area. It is somewhat remote, but obviously serviced better by other carriers. Since I spend a lot of time in this area both inside and outside I might be better served by AT&T.
