Where is Android 4.4 KitKat for the Verizon Galaxy Note 3?!?

Where is it, Verizon?!?!? I called a week ago and tech support tried to tell me it hasn't even been released by Samsung. I know better. Samsung's site shows the releases for the KitKat update and the affected Galaxy Note 3 models. Sprint, AT&T and now T-Mobile have it. Why is "The nation's most reliable network" the last to get it?!?!? How is it that a flagship phone form Samsung doesn't have it yet? KitKat was released in October of 2013!! Samsung's own page shows the update status and the networks its been rolled out to. If we are willing to pay the most for our service, shouldn't we get the best overall service for our phones?

Updates are exciting Jmuscol1. I know how frustrating it can be to wait. Unfortunatley, we do not have any information regarding the release date. However, please feel free to register for alerts on new products and services by clicking, http://bit.ly/dDumph

The software releases are staggered. The T-Mobile one hasn't been released yet. The source code has been posted which means that theirs should be starting soon. Verizon Wireless has to certify the version of the update for the Verizon branded phones before it is released. It shouldn't be too much longer.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

By certify you mean stripping all the useful stuff out of it and bloating it up with crapware... right?

No. VZW will certify it that it doesn't break the network. HTC posted a nice infographic that shows the carriers don't mess with the code itself. Samsung works the same way.

That is the exact thing we usually see from VZW or a failed update as we say with the S3 a few updates back!

I'm nearly certain that you work for Verizon. Which is cool if you do. Just make it known if you do.

Nope. I have never worked for Verizon Wireless. If I did, I wouldn't be on this community forum.

This waiting and waiting and waiting is getting old. Every day I check for the update and read everything I can to see if anyone has gotten the OTA. My bluetooth is spotty at best, wifi doesn't work correctly anymore, charger doesn't work (did an exchange for a standard charger at the store), signal strength is very poor (tower is less than a mile away), GPS is inaccurate and wonky, and a few features just don't want to work (lots of force closes). I've factory reset, changed SIM cards, no luck. Was hoping to get 4.4 soon as the bug fixes are major. Keeping customers in the dark is a bad business practice. Any clue on the status of the update with truth behind it is much better than what we are getting from Verizon as of now which is nothing. Furthermore, my Samsung Note 10.1 2012 is stuck on 4.1.2 which has a security flaw and I refuse to use it until it's updated (heartbleed bug). We spend so much money on a premium service and get left in the dark. Rant over.

Your N3 is only a Samsung Flagship phone but not really a VZW Flagship. If you want a VZW Flagship you have to use a Droid phone VZW sells and promotes.

That's the problem.
The answer is always we don't know. Maybe we are all tired of hearing we don't or always being last to updates.
Better yet, maybe were tired of asking or logical requests, such as allowing unlimited data plan holders to participate in Verizon Edge. The answer is no to that one too.
That's why I'm thinking about "JUMP"ing ship.

If were a family, then we are a seriously dysfunctional family. You guys do things without regard to your customers opinions. All in the name of chasing excessive amounts of profit.
Once trust is broken, you can not renew it.
First you do away with unlimited data. Your CEO says it's unsustainable. Now, if I use the same amount of data on unlimited or a tiered / shared, how is it unsustainable?
Next you created Share / More Everything which to me was just a means to grab excessive profits while you say the sky is falling, the sky is falling.
What really angered me is you excluded unlimited data plan holders from Verizon Edge. This is something the other carriers did not do.
In closing, I can say that I won't be part of this family much longer. My T-Mobile phones shipped today. I'll have them tomorrow.

We're going to be really sad to see you go michaeljtimko! I hope you reconsider and stay with us! Have you looked into our Device Payment Plan? This can only be done in stores if you're eligible, but it allows you to keep your Unlimited Data plan if you already have one. Here are details: http://vz.to/ZILXBT
Again, I hope you decide to stay with us!
Thank you,

That's actually another reason I'm leaving.
I had a device purchase plan. I had some extra money, so I paid it off. Now, when I paid it off, I tried to use the checking account on file. For some reason it wouldn't go through. I then switched to my debit MasterCard. That worked. The funds come from the same place.
Flash forward a week. Browsing the Verizon site, the HTC One Max catches my eye. I decide to go to the store and do another device purchase plan.
That was nothing but a nightmare.
First they tell my account has to bill because the DPP does not fall off right away. They tell me to come back in a few days. Not happy, I agree to. This visit to the store was almost three hours.
On my next visit, I find out because the idiot Rep at *611 processed the payment as a credit card, now I had to wait 30 days to ensure I would not dispute the credit card transaction. I found this out after spending two more hours in the store.
Had he done it right (with my checking account as he started), I would have been in the clear with my next Verizon phone.
Verizon's screw ups cost me time, energy and happiness.
That's why I'm leaving.

I agree with what you are saying about VZW. I do hope if you leave VZW for another carrier you end up with what you expect from that carrier. I do see some people unhappy with the other carriers but not in the numbers I see at VZW.

With what I am unhappy along with many others is the way VZW takes liberty with locking down customers phone and only giving out the updates when and if VZW feels like it. VZW locks down customer owned phones like no other carrier in the USA. I do not need an answer to this and I don't want an answer. Results are what matters to me and many of the unhappy customers I see here complaining. I am only here because I live in rural New Mexico and we don't have much choice here. I have and keep your service ONLY because it works where I live/work and play. Get with it VZW put out the updates for your customers phones in a timely manner, stop all the bloatware and stop removing useful features from the updates that all other carriers allow on their customers phones.
Thank You, You have a good day AdaS_VZW

Actually Verizon, I wouldn't mind an answer.
I briefly got to see a T-Mobile Note 3 and it has less than half of what my Note 3 has on it. it doesn't have Amazon apps pre-installed, and it obviously did not have any of the unwanted VZW apps installed such as Navigator, Cloud, and Security.
Android comes with a very nice Maps & Navigation software right out of the box. We don't need VZ Navigator. It just takes up space on our phones.
I'm with japetty here. You guys need to get with the program. We need software updates in a timely manner. We don't need Verizon adding unnecessary software to our phones. Put you items in the Play Store. There we can evaluate them against there peers and decide what's best for "OUR" phones.
Especially now since we basically pay full Price for them if we use Edge or the Device Purchase Plan.
