Where is Android 4.4 KitKat for the Verizon Galaxy Note 3?!?

Where is it, Verizon?!?!? I called a week ago and tech support tried to tell me it hasn't even been released by Samsung. I know better. Samsung's site shows the releases for the KitKat update and the affected Galaxy Note 3 models. Sprint, AT&T and now T-Mobile have it. Why is "The nation's most reliable network" the last to get it?!?!? How is it that a flagship phone form Samsung doesn't have it yet? KitKat was released in October of 2013!! Samsung's own page shows the update status and the networks its been rolled out to. If we are willing to pay the most for our service, shouldn't we get the best overall service for our phones?

Updates are exciting Jmuscol1. I know how frustrating it can be to wait. Unfortunatley, we do not have any information regarding the release date. However, please feel free to register for alerts on new products and services by clicking, http://bit.ly/dDumph

Thunderbolt26,
That's the last thing we want you to do! We love having you with us. What's going on with your phone? Share the details of the problem, so I can assist. We want your phone to function without a problem and on the most current software as determined by the developer.

The other day, a friend of mine with Verizon fell in love with my Note 3.
As his contract was up he decided to compare data plans and decided to
switch to TMobile where he got his Note 3. As soon as he got his phone it
downloaded and installed KitKat. I was happy for him and speechless at the
same time.

As of today T-Mobile got the KK update, and here we are. I RAN from Sprint as soon as I could and they were the first to get the KK update for this device. Still glad I switched even if we will be the last to get the update.

I have read that Sprint customers are having some issues with the KK update! I have only read so far of about 6 customers so I would guess there are more. they have also been having issues with KK update on phones in Europe. So user beware with your updates if we ever get them from VZW.

I would like to know what problems Sprint customers are having with Kit Kat? I hadn't seen anything on Google about it.
As for the international community, the only thing I remember reading about was Kit Kat seemed to inhibit non Samsung smart covers made by the likes of Incipio and Seidio from working.

Look over in the forums at androidcentral.com so far only a handful but I am sure there are more. If you don't find them let me know. Don't just look in the Sprint forums.

I was at Best Buy today, stopped in to see the Samsung Rep about Polaris 5 not syncing thru cloud service (nope it really doesn't)
He put Kit Kat on my phone.
Runs fast and no extra battery drain noticed.
Downloaded Another App and put Polaris in the Bloatware heap.

Think I am going to have to call BS on this one. It must not have been a VZW Note 3. I was at Best Buy this weekend as well and they hooked my phone up and it said no updates available. The Samsung Rep told me that VZW is always at the back of the pack with software updates.
The typical VZW answer is "We don't know. We have no information on when, etc."
You have all other major carriers pushing KitKat to their Note 3's. Even people overseas are getting the push. The ones of us here on VZW have to sit and wait...and wait...and wait while we get fed full of the usual "It's coming soon" "We have no information on that" "We don't know".
I can tell you that SOMEONE at VZW knows. It can't be some dark kept secret on when they are planning on releasing it...if ever. One of the main factors of getting my Note 3 was that it was in line for KitKat.
As far as bloatware..Yeah VZW fills every single one of their phones with as much useless bloatware as possible. I root my phones every time just so I can get my phone running at the performance I expect. If it was Samsung putting all this bloatware on then it would be the same bloatware on every carrier's version. But it isn't. And you can't uninstall it unless you root. Putting the bloatware on there is fine, but give us an option to uninstall it if we want. It is OUR phone. VZW shouldn't have to dictate how we use OUR phones.
Basically someone needs to give us a release date and stop trying to BS us with how great customer support and coverage is to try to distract us away from the real answers we deserve.

I understand wanting the newest update when all other carriers get it first.
Quick question, why you you need KitKat so bad? What features are on KitKat that are not on Jellybean that you have to have?
Just a side note not directed to you specifically, but everybody wants the latest and greatest OS yet none of them have any reason to get it.......most don't even know what will be included and how it will benefit them.
You guys are starting to sound like Apple customers, wanting the latest and greatest without realizing the past 3 models/updates have been the exact same
I bet someone is going to google what is new with KitKat and respond to me to sound like they know
Verizon will be last to get it, if you don't like that then switch providers.
Good Luck

Well!
I've flashed three Kindle Fires (1 original, 2 HD) to KitKat and they've gotten new leases on life. KitKat has performance tweaks, support more options/features, optimizes certain video drivers etc etc.
With my old Razr, going from Gingerbread Sandwich to JellyBean was like getting a new phone.. then that latest patch came out and ruined that.... but I digress.
KitKat solves some issues that some folks have been dealing with for some time. Good enough?

Not everybody knows what it does and it's supposed to fix issues, we don' know if it will or if it will make it worse.
Most people want it just because it's the latest and greatest, not because they need it or know what it'll do.
Especially when all these people want it ASAP.........that's like Cadillac releasing a new car before crash testing it.

My main reason for wanting it would be the ability to use Google Wallet. Not sure what else(if anything) I am looking forward to.

Fyi. Google Wallet Tap and Pay is blocked by Verizon on NFC phones. I've
been using ISIS with the free AMEX SERVE which can be funded by any of your
debit/credit cards. Works great. Right now until the end of March, they
start you off with $40! Sweet.

I am well aware how ISIS works and have been using it for almost a year now. I would prefer to be able to add ANY card to my wallet which is what Google Wallet allows you to do, not simply a few chosen cards.
Fyi. Google Wallet Tap and Pay is NOT blocked by Verizon on android 4.4, KitKat. At least it is not blocked on any of the phones currently running KitKat.

Good to know. Thanks.
Wonder why they blocked it for 4.3 on Note 3.

Someone at Google told me minimum requirement for Tap and Pay is Android
4.3, NFC phone, Secure simple card. However, they told me Verizon is
blocking it. At least on my Note 3 4.3 NFC. Would be nice if such
restrictions are removed with 4.4.
