The 10th is here and I'm waiting for fixes or 2.2 and no new notifications on phone saying any new updates available. Lets hope it's coming sometime today
Even IF the rollout of the maintenance release starts today, it'll be a staggered release across multiple days. Verizon isn't going to magically snap their fingers and put it on all phones.
Well that sucks I thought it would just be sent over the air and we would all get it. Just have to wait and see and hope ones who get let us all know so we dont give up hope.
Besides all this, please show me where the official notice is that there is even an update coming today. All I've seen are screenshots of verizon employee monitors that suggest an MR is supposed to come today. This doesn't account for failures noted late in software testing or other delays.
Over the Air blows. Yes it's convenient, but I would prefer to download and flash from my computer. It seems in Europe they have Keis. I really believe the decision to delay the flash was caused by the product demo at CES 2011.
I stopped over at XDA Developers and no one is stating they have the official release. It would be cool if we received 2.3 Gingerbread vice 2.2 Froyo. Beggars can't be choosers. I will be happy if the GPS works faster. I had HTC products before and liked the QuickGPS program.
I will say this....i will never get the iPhone.

Mssurviver I dont want Iphone myself because with Verizon putting in what they want it will be the same as this phone the Fascinate and the other Droids. It was a big deal when AT&T came out with it couple yeras ago but now with the Android phones it is nothing great anymore. Just my opinion

That's the one thing good about apple. If it comes to Verizon, it'll be on Apple's terms and most likely won't be bloated to where it's about to explode. That said, I never have and never will have any interest in it.
wow, here's a surprise. someone started a RUMOR about a release date, and now people are taking it to heart and getting all huffy and puffy when it doesn't come out.

Yeah, so I just spoke to Verzion Technical Support for an issue in another thread (InnPatho ActiveCare Server Unavailable) who stated that I have the most current Android Update listed as Froyo verified by my Baseband version of S:i500.04 V.DI01... She also stated that she didn't have a release date yet, but Google just announced Gingerbread and it should be out soon too. Completely confused I questioned her again about having Froyo as I still have GPS issues to which she said the best way to fix that is to do the Master Reset and that I wouldn't loose any of my software. Again questioning her further she said all my software is in the phone, but I would loose anything I have added to my software like notes in Memo and then what seemed like a side note that I would also loose any apps I downloaded. Apparently I have Froyo! Lucky me... If only I still believed in the tooth fairy my day would be complete.

Not wanting to give up I called back and spoke to a gentleman who took his time and verified all the information I gave him. As we all know the Fascinate shipped with Version 2.1 and had an update in September to 2.1 update1. And...there are NO updates listed for this phone at this time.

Not entirely true. The first half is correct but as posted above, Verizon is pushing out DL09 which should fix the GPS problems along with some other minor issues. It isn't Froyo but it should solve a majority of the complaints other than the non-working audio port on the dock

I don't have the update either, I basing off what that article says. They can't roll it out to everybody at once so they do it in stages, it will be available sometime this week I'm sure.
It's sad when the community knows more than tech support, but it's all good news! I don't have the update yet, but will keep checking. Thank you!
