Verizon never said it would be coming on 2/22. It was nothing more than a rumor started on a blog site telling Fascinate owners to "keep their calendar open for 2/22". Granted they were correct about the epic 4G update that started late Monday night.

I have tried to be patient but now I'm getting frustrated and angry and their lack of response to anything. I can't imagine what could be holding this up. I bought my phone in good faith. I just want some kind of response from Verizon.

.. Or buy the HTC Thunderbolt, which comes out tomorrow. 4G phone, and HTC has a much better update track than Samsung does.
OR wait for the Droid Bionic, which comes out in a few months. Dual core CPU, also 4G and both of those phones have a front facing camera.
OR just find your way to the Android Development section of the XDA forums and read about how you can get the Froyo update that's been out for a month.
In any case, complaining to VZW isn't going to help, because it's not going to get the update out faster. Samsung has to pass VZW's QC testing, which from the looks of it they have failed to do so pretty consistently. If you don't like the pace of updates, take matters into your own hands (Just don't blame me if you fail to follow instructions and turn your phone into a $600 paperweight).

I'd almost bet you won't see the Thunderbolt tomorrow. It's being delayed like the Froyo update for the fascinate.

you all act like samsung is so terrible. htc released the eris ~november 2009, it didn't have 2.1 until may 14th the following year. the fascinate has gotten numerous updates since it was released, and it's still under the 6 month it took htc to release a new os. so, stop complaining.

Well it's official, today AT&T announced the Froyo update for the Captivate will be released tomorrow on their facebook page. Thins came only a few hours after android central mentioned the leaked KB1 update was available. This officially make us the last ones left out in the cold with our Fascinate for the Froyo OTA uodate!
*I thought I'd post this in a couple of the many threads on this.

I just saw this over at the XDA forums:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11574844&postcount=33
There is no update on 2/22...or 2/23...or February...
I emailed Samsung open source to get an update and here is their response:
[SAMSUNG OSRC COMMENTS DELIVERY NOTIFICATION]
Dear xxxxx
Thank you for your continuous interest on our product.
New firmware about Froyo is planning to release in March 2011.
Because Verizon has reqeusted the some requirement for Fascinate Froyo version.
Once again,I hope you will accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
Thank you.
Sincerely yours,

This is what I have been saying even though some want to deny or argue. VZW will not release it until all their "bloatware" is on board.
I do agree that VZW never gave a date for release, but allot of folks including myself were told by VZW reps as far back as November that release was coming soon. A lie to make a sale maybe, but I think it is more on the rumor mill created by insiders and internet folks.
If you want FROYO now folks there are other options. Load it up and enjoy.

Excuse me but Samsung would NEVER send that poorly written response - "some" requirement? (the word should have been "same")
What I have read recently points to Verizon's issue with Samsung's charge for the Froyo upgrade. Sammy feels this is a "feature upgrade" - not something that is required for maintenance issues, etc. It will be interesting to see which company gives in first.

the fascinate is not the only one, the contunuum still is on 2.1, and I believe the mezmerize has yet to get 2.2. also, the "bloatware" being added is a copy and paste affair, as it only cares about the OS, not the hardware. I love what some people make up to try to place blame for not having a software update. it's amusing.

Thank you so much for your reply. At least we've cleared 1 thing with regard to the FROYO update and that is one will be released soon. Alot of Verizon customer feels like we've been left in limbo not knowing for sure if an update will be released. I'll surely wait patiently for the update.

My wife got her Fascinate last year, mid October. The sales guy told us the update would be coming at the end of the month. It is now February, and there is no update.
Before you fall all over yourself thanking this guy, perhaps you should ask him to explain his idea of "soon."

I got mine on October 5th, and I was torn between the Fascinate and the Motorola Droid X, but I chose the Fascinate. When I was looking at it, the salesman in the Rochester NY store told me that "This phone will be updated to 2.2 Froyo soon, so your concerns about the lack of Flash will be resolved then". I asked him if he knew when exactly, he said he could not say, so I told him I would be up before the 30 days is up if it is not. Well, as we all know, it was not, I went up there 28 days later, and I told them that I was waiting for the update, and they told me that it was right around the corner. So they got me to wait for this update so I could not return the phone to replace it with something else.
I love the phone, and it works great with everything I do now, but Flash and the Car/Home dock problem with audio have me frustrated. I just want the phone to work the way the salesman told me it would.

I am so disappointed with Verizon and Samsungs delay in upgrading the Fascinate to 2.2. I would never have gotten the phone if I had known it would take this long. I called Verizon before upgrading to the Fascinate and was told the phone would have 2.2 within the next month.(Purchased October 1st.) Verizon constantly thanks us for our patience when in reality we have no choice. I am not being patient...I am angry and I have no choice in the matter. Galaxy S owners should have been given the option to switch their phones to something else with no interruption to their contracts. There is absolutely no excuse for this and if Verizon really cared about their customers this would be done!!
