I am trying to download the familybase companion on my sons s7 edge, it says there is "no eligible device for app install"

Does your son's phone have the most current software (Marshmallow)? The FamilyBase Companion application is not currently compatible with devices that are running Android Marshmallow. Visit http://vz.to/2fUn1BJ and under "Compatibility with Plans, Features and devices" select number 6 for more details.
