Happened earlier today that suddenly I am not able to send text messages, so I did my research on the topic and tried every suggestion and NOTHING worked!!!! I need help VERIZON! Please
I have been trying to send and receive text messages from my phone but it never worked, not sure the reason, also was directed to dial a number to update phone software and I did and still could not send and receive text messages so I was a little concerned because the text message services were listed under my phone plan and says unlimited text messages when it does not simply work. I also downloaded the text messaging software app... so...:smileysad:
Hello mkpstamps and sleepycap2 - Let's get those messages flowing again! May I have each of your zip codes to reference the areas? Are you getting a specific error message when trying to send or receive? I am eager to get to the bottom of this! Thank you,YaleK_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWsupport
I have spent over 5 hrs on the phone, been to my local Verizon store and been through an online chat with a Verizon Wireless specialist to get help - I cannot send any text messages from Galaxy S4 when I'm at my home. I have no issues sending texts away from home. No one has been able to fix this problem. I bought the phone new at the end of Dec and I have never been able to send texts consistently from home. The on line chat specialist assigned my case to a tech support person over 4 weeks ago and still no response. Is it my wireless router? By the way, it's the same issue whenever I have people at home who have the same Galaxy S4 phone. PLEASE help me get this fixed!
I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ZIP 93108
you can't send text messages thru wi-fi.
I, for one, am not trying to send text through wifi. I am trying to use my verizon network extender from my home (because without it we have never had verizon service in our home). For some reason, there is no service available for either phone calls or text at the moment.
JRCMILLETT, we need to get those text messages sending! There's no reported issues in your area. With others same make/model phones experiencing the exact same issue I'm thinking we need to trouble shoot your Network Extender. It's the only thing all of those devices have in common. Have you tried resetting it and verifying that your Verizon Wireless access settings are correct through My Verizon http://bit.ly/shbXqa ? SarahO_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
JRCMILLETT, Let's get that up and running for you. I do not show any alerts for that zipcode. Have you had any trouble with calls? Try placing the device in safemode http://vz.to/1iNjkcs . Retest and let us know if it is working in safemode.BrianP_VZWFollow Us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Which device are you talking about and why should i put it into safe mode?
And what should i do once i have in safe mode? And why am i getting several
responses from verizon all with different ideas?

mine is 96822. :smileyhappy: Please help, it would be much better if i get to use my text messages :smileyhappy:
It seems like there are three different types of account access type, the lowest one is account member, then the account manager and the highest account type is account owner which allows the most access to the verizon resources so my question is how do we move up from account member to account manger or account owner?
I too have a network extender at home and after going through two of them and almost sending the 3rd back and changing my service a Verizon gave a tip I did not know. The network extender has to be plugged in to the router or cable modem.
I was unable to lock to the GPS, it did when I got them then lasted a month or two and bye bye. After doing this all lights have been blue for almost a week. I removed my S4 from my plan and am using a flip phone for now because of the troubles I have had but the extender is now rock solid. I would suggest checking that.
what is a network extender? does it allow portable phones to connect to the wifi, well, surpassingly my flip phone is 1G so definitely not comparable to 3g or 4s which i miss the most, and right now i can't even upload pictures to Facebook nor twitter through the flip phone... totally feel snail speed...
A network extender is like a small Tower in your home it receives signal from the Towers outside your home and it extends that signal to your phone.. Here is some more info on the Mobile extender.. b33

Thanks for reaching out, sleepycap2! Let's get your messages moving again! Are you getting any specific error messages? Are you using the native Messaging app or a 3rd party app? Thank you,YaleK_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWsupport
Hello again sleepycap2! We want you to be a ble to easily manage your account. In order to make another line the Account Owner we will have to unregister the My Verizon account and set it up fresh. Please feel free to follow me back and send a Direct Message so we can discuss your options in detail.Thank you,YaleK_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWsupport
JRCMILLETT, We are here just to give you troubleshooting steps to try to figure out where the issue is coming from. Safe mode temporarily disables all applications that have been installed via the Android Market or Google Play. Performing this troubleshooting step is necessary to determine whether a third-party application is the cause of an operating system or application problem. You can get the device out of safe mode by just powering the phone off like normal and turning the device back on just like normal.I see you said though that you are having issues with your network extender. Have you been able to power cycle the network extender? Are any of the lights coming up with a red light? How long has the network extender not been working? Please keep us posted.KevinR_VZWPlease follow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
johnmccoy51, I'm sorry to learn you're having issues with your Network Extender, I definitely want you to be able to enjoy your service while indoors. We'll be happy to troubleshoot it if you continue to have issues. Regarding your phone, you may have a network extender that is designed to enhance 3G data only and voice coverage. In this case, you can ensure your phone will revert to 3G when available by going to Settings>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode>LTE/CDMA. AdaS_VZWFollow us on Twitter at @VZWSupport
Hello YaleK_VZW,
Thank you very much, please let me know what is next step I only have one line because I am currently preparing an exam and hopefully get accepted somewhere... so I may just have one line for now maybe in the future if I happen to find a great job will for sure considering adding lines or upgrade my phone. The flip phone that i'm having now does not allow me to send text messages for some reason so i was wondering if there is anyway i could fix it so i could use the text function. Not that i have many friends to text to, just so happen i could use it if i run out of minute. Thank you very much for your time, i really appreciate for your services and your assistance means a great deal to me.
sleepycap2, we want your data access to move faster than a snail. The Network Extender allows you to make calls and in most cases provide faster access for email and other applications. It enhances indoor coverage to provide more reliable service. For more information regarding the network extender device, click http://vz.to/GO3te0 LasinaH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport

My husband and I are also having this problem. I get texts he sends to me, but he can't text back. His texts say not delivered. We both have iPhone 5, both on Verizon and on the same plan. This has happened before, but each time it seems to correct itself, as we cannot figure out what to do to correct it. We've rebooted, checked our settings, etc. But nothing corrects problem. So, since it is happening again, we want to get to the bottom of this. We do not want to wait for days/weeks until problem mysteriously resolves itself. Other times we've had this same issue it is me who can't send texts.
i have been having this same problem on and off for a week now. I suddenly am unable to make/receive calls OR text. A couple of hours ago, everything worked fine - then it's all gone. And the message I get is that "the Network is Not Reponding." When I spoke to a CS rep this weekend, she told me to update the system with *228 , etc etc. It didn't make a bit of difference. I am beyond frustrated and plan to switch to another cell phone company next week since apparently Verizon is unable to resolve this. My zip code is 85711. If anyone from Verizon cares to respond.
Yeah, this morning I received a message said I have insufficient fund in the account and therefore could not make or receive phone calls. Last weekend I was reminded I have 70 minutes left which was the minimal amount to sustain the phone service. I am really confused, apparently the monthly prepaid plan comes with the monthly contract which was $35 and there is a time window to deposit credit into account in order to receive or make phone calls not to mention my phone text message have not been working for some reason...
I finally got my text message working! Yay! It is so wonderful, thank you Verizon.
So my next question is how to have access to account manager.
We want you to enjoy consistent performance jmmAZ! I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties. What model device are you using? Can you use data? If you have a 4G device, we do not recommend dialing *228. This is used for 3G or 1X devices only. My first recommendation would be to soft reset the device by removing the battery or power cycling the device. This will also automatically update the preferred roaming list on the device.JonathanK_VZWVZW SupportFollow Us on Twitter@VZWSupport
