Every time I turn around and I look at applications running it shows that google play is on. The thing is I am not listening to any music but the app is always running. I am new to the Android world so I was wondering if I am doing something wrong?

Nope, it runs on my Moto Razr M too (just looked). Wouldn't worry about it, just leave it alone.

I wondered the same thing about 'Play Music'. Even after closing it, it opens on its own again. It's annoying and the program uses 21 MG of RAM when it's running.

No reason it should bother. Since it's a background process, if another foreground process needs the RAM it will unload the app and use it. Linux (Android) memory management works much differently than Windows in that regard, so no reason to feel annoyed about it.

Excellent point about the RAM usage. Thanks.
