Why does S4 shut down while still showing as much as 70% battery existing

Keeping your phone powered up and ready to go when you need it is a must. It is rather strange that your phone is turning off when there's still sufficient charge, so let's work together to figure out what's going on. When did you begin having the trouble? What are you using on the phone when it turns off? What displays on the screen when this happens (i.e. low battery indicator, a different error message, etc.)?
