Why does my voicemail pauses when I put phone up to my ear?

My Samsung S6 has always done this. I cannot listen to voicemails since it stops every time. Is there still no fix for this? This is ridiculous.

DEBRIS84, this is no way to have to listen to your voicemails. I can understand your frustration. I'm sorry to hear that you've had this issue from the beginning. Do you have this problem with phone calls or any other apps? What troubleshooting have you tried so far? What happens if you dial *86 directly?
