Why doesn't my Galaxy S6 open correctly?

My new Samsung 6 opens to the phone dialer, not the home page. Is there any way to correct this?

Got it figured out. When I swiped across the screen, I was doing across the

bottom and touching the small icon for the phone on the bottom left corner.

Defines "opens?" When you click what? The phone icon? The web browser? Need more info.

Either when I push the button on the side and "wake" it up or am powering

it up sitter being powered off. Then I swipe it and it goes straight to the

phone dialer screen.

I haven't seen this before. Let me do some digging and see if I can figure it out.
