Why don't Calendars sync?

Just got two Galaxy S4s. Each has own number. But the calendars don't accurately sync. Not when done manually, nor "automatically." The sync buttons seem to all be checked, but I don't know if that's accurate or not. Why aren't these "came with the phones" calendars synching?
Thanks for any help.

I will ask again. Are you selecting the gmail account to save the event into? If you are saving them to the phone only calendar, that will stay only on the phone and not sync with anything else. You should be using a calendar common to both phones whether it is a Gmail account or another email address.

Syncing where? Are you wanting them to sync with your gmail account? If so are you selecting your gmail account as the location where the event you are creating should save?

The calendars aren't synching with each other, i.e., exchanging events entered. This was possible on our old galaxy s phones.

Hello paul3d. I understand having your calendars in sync with each other is really important and I'm happy to help. Ann154 did have a very good question. Are you entering the events into your phone under one of your Gmail accounts or as a phone event? Are both phones logged into the same Gmail account? These details will help us to move forward in finding the best resolution.
Thank you

I’d reply on the forum, but can’t find out how to reply. Plus, my account now seems to be frozen. and I don’t know where to get help to unfreeze it. Anyway, my problem was that there are two accounts in My Calendar. The default setting is “My Calendar.” That one will not sync with the My Calendar in the other phone. I finally figured out that I had to click the other account, which is a gmail.com email account. When I clicked that in “edit” and hit sync, the events then synced between the two calendars.
Thanks for your interest.

That's right, the My Calendar is only for the particular phone it's on. It won't sync to anything else directly. That's why you have to use the Gmail calendar for syncing between phones.
