Why is my brand new Samsung S7 Edge battery draining so quickly?

I've only had my phone for a couple of days.  The battery is draining really quickly!  Why would it go fr om 100% to 97% after a few hours of taking off the cable charger?  I took it off and put it down.  I could understand if I was on FB or using it quite a bit but didn't even touch it.  Frustrating since that is what my two year old S5 was doing.  Hated having to charge it daily!

Backup your phone using Smart Switch and perform a factory reset.   I had the same issue with the battery draining too quickly.  Factory reset resolved the issue.  Did you uninstall any of the default installed apps by Samsung?

Your reply about using Smart Switch is interesting since the Samsung Smart Switch Mobile app isn't compatible with the S7.

usb or wall charger???

if the phone was on when you charged it, never saw a full charge so the drop you described is normal.

I had that problem, got a new one same problem.  Finally went to Verizon store and got one it was ok, till yesterday when they had a new update, so now I am back to battery going for 100 to 97 in 10 min.  Checked the battery usage after I got the third one and it was my email, so I turned it off and that worked till yesterday.  I had a s4 before that and never had a problem with the battery.  The reason I got the s7 was because the battery life was suppose to be good.  On my way to the Verizon store hope they can fix it.

Seems to me that the s7 is not an s4 or an s5. The s7 does more and is more than those phones. It has more going on in the background than my s5 did. For example, without me doing anything, it figured out that the place I drive to every day is where I work. Every morning I get a traffic report to my work. Same thing to get back home.  And it has more options. If you look in Settings/battery, there are some power saving options you can try. And you can turn off apps that seem to use a lot of power, like screen on.

I am a heavy user, so no battery is going to last very long for me.

Totally worth it to me if I have to charge it more often.
