Why is my phone restarting by itself?

My phone was working perfectly. Then all of a sudden it started powering down and on by itself. It does not stay on long enough for me to look at any settings. I let the battery drain completely out and it still had the issue, I also physically took the battery out for over an hour and I still had the issue. I tried taking the SD card out and the issue is still happening. It's been over 24 hours now and I cannot use my phone. This is beyond frustrating and annoying. Please advise. The phone is less than 6 mos old. I did not drop it and it didn't get in any water.

I can feel your pain, DNae85. My phone was doing the same thing after a recent Google Play update. Google is aware of many phones constantly power cycling.You did nothing wrong to create this.

I want to provide you with the steps that worked for me until there is an update to update.

1. Disable the data connection (put into airplane mode), uninstall the Play Service updates to fix the issue.

2. Go to application manager>all>Google Play services and "uninstall" updates

3. Power cycle the device and turn airplane mode off if it is still on.

**If you are unable to get the device to stay on long enough to put into airplane mode you will need to complete an alternate factory data reset. ****
