Why won't my S4 charge on a certain USB device?

My S4 will charge using various cables and USB sockets in my car, but it will not charge using a USB outlet I installed on a motorcycle.

I have tried my Galaxy Tab2, a blue tooth ear piece, and even old phones (Samsung Stratosphere, and an older LG Chocolate) using different

cables. All of these charge using this USB outlet on the Motorcycle. What is so unique about the S4 that it will NOT charge using this one

USB outlet when everything else seems to work????

cnvssv, let’s get this figured out together so you can charge your phone on the go. Any damage/liquid to the port? Are you using the original charger on the USB port on your motorcycle?

Please understand that I can use various OEM or Samsung USB cables, and Samsung or OEM USB A/C adapters,

and various car chargers and this S4 charges fine. I can use the same cables to charge 4 other devices, as specified in my original post. ONLY the S4 fails to recognize that it is plugged into this USB port that I installed on the motorcycle.

I have an older S4 no longer in use. This one just vibrates on and off when plugged into this USB port, but nothing is displayed on the screen. SO, it appears that there is some sort of difference with the S4 that is not a problem with the

other devices. This is why I asked if there is something unique about the S4 for charging.

BTW, there does NOT appear to be any damage to the USB port on the phone, and is has never been wet.

About your other question, "Are you using the original charger on the USB port on your motorcycle?" the ORIGINAL

charger for the S4 is an A/C adapter. The motorcycle is 12VDC, so NO, I am not using the original charger on the

motorcycle.

We certainly want to maximize the options that you have. Devices are starting to differentiate themselves when it comes to charging. We recommend using a Samsung approved charger. You may also find more answers at Samsung.com.

I would like to take your recommendation for using a "Samsung approved charger". Would you please tell me where I can find one for my motorcycle !!

BTW, I did consulted Samsung.com before reading your last post. At least they were of some help.
