Wifi Toggle ?

Just wondering..

I don't have a shortcut button on my screen (green on/off button) for my wifi.

I do have a slider to set it for On / Off.

Is there a way to get a nice icon ??

I see people talking about reloading the factory settings after the update, but won't you loose the update then?

Not sure if that part has anything to do with above.

Thank you all Smiley Happy

If you do a factory reset, you won't lose the update.

On the S4, if you want a wi-fi toggle, you'll need to download one from the Google Play Store.  An alternative is to pull down the notification bar, then tap Wi-Fi off (that then turns on wi-fi and takes you to the wi-fi screen).

ok. Thanks.

Thought people we're talking about the Wifi Icon missing all the way at the top.

All I had was a slider to turn Wifi on or off.

a Nice bigger icon would have been nicer I think.

This is what I was talking about

http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-samsung-galaxy-s4/296194-those-without-wi-fi-toggle-after-u...

So I do need to load the factory settings in order to finish the update 😕

Seems like Wallpapers we're missing..

Gotta wonder if this will also fix my  2 bar only  problem, and MMS problem..

I hadn't seen that reference; thanks for sharing.  Not having a wi-fi toggle doesn't bother me, so I don't plan on doing a factory reset just to see if one then appears.

Since the ongoing wifi notification stays either way, I rather have just one way to toggle the wifi on the notification bar.

Personally I would prefer a quick toggle, but I'll take what I get.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Well,  if I look around and put everything together, it might fix all these issues as well?

- Wifi Button

- 2 bars reception

- MMS not sending through.

- Faster

- missing wallpapers (for me I don't care)

- maybe my playlist issue

I have no clue what got changed in the software/firmware

Maybe I am wrong...

Guess I have nothing to loose, except for the apps...

you will also lose all data on the phone's memory so if you have any music or pics or videos that are not on the sd card then be sure to copy them to a pc or something, if you do a reset.

if anyone hasn't checked out apps like elixer, you all really should. you can set up toggles for just about anything (besides about a million other things it does).

So I contacted Verizon Customer Service today about this very issue. As of now Verizon was not even tracking that there was an issue. Well, they are now and a notification has been sent to the higher ups of Verizon. Hopefully there will be a fix, I refuse to loose all that I have placed on my new S4. However, maybe we will see 5.0 Key LIme Pie before that happens lol

Well, I did a factory reset, and I have indeed the Wifi icon now.

Everything else is still the same.

Funny thing is that I could NOT backup my info with the Verizon backup program.

but it did work just fine with the KIES (samsung) program..

I restored everything, and most settings are back..

I only need to reassign the images for my contacts.. so far

ehm.  I used Kies and it restored all my settings and apps, pics, logs etc
