Will my device work with an international sim card?

Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. I'll be in France for an extended period of time this summer. I'd like to use a local wireless carrier rather than a Verizon Global Roaming plan as I'll have a local apartment and need a local number. Can I use my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 with a French (Orange most likely) SIM?

All Verizon 4G LTE phones are unlocked from the factory. You can certainly try to use a local SIM, but our devices are designed for the Verizon network, and performance on other networks is not guaranteed.
