It's stupid. I doubt it was the facebook rants that got that move on the vibrant. It was probably more timing than all the stupid complaining. So please don't go on facebook 4-1-11 because the only dip that will be the fool are the ones who get nowhere with the whining. What I expect will happen is the stupid belief that once the upgrade is released that these dips will think the only reason we have it is because they "beat down" the manufacturer and provider on a social network. Whatever. This is growing more stupid by the day people.

No sir you are. Facebook is public and we can do what we want on it as long as we stay in their terms of service. So we can complain all we want ;P besides if you don't like the idea just ignore it because it obviously doesn't concern you

Love it Ladybell I think your right and even if we get Froyo these people who have whined so much will complain about it and expect another upgrade thats out there and it will never end. No Facebook for me

Droidbotics, thanks for the invite. I just can't recall ever being promised this. Offered a possibility of it sure but no promise. Even if it were promised verbally I dont see how its binding. My work is based on government contracts and if its not written, then its not guaranteed.

Same here gsp10. My apology to you as well. I dont really think it will work. Maybe I am wrong. I am not against us getting this update. And no sure I have not gotten the update from other means. Still running 2.1 myself. My husband is running 2.2 on a different device andI can't make out enough difference in the operation. Its a tad bit faster. Barely. I guess what I need to know is why do you want it so bad? Is it because of principle or usefulness?

Papa leo, I have just as much right to be annoyed by what I read in this forum. I really like the Fascinate. I do own it. Glad to actually. I think the revolution as you call it is lackluster. I apologized to gsp10. Just as he did me. I come here hoping I will learn more cool tips to get the most out of my device but all I see is constant complaining about what appears to be a lack of accountability for making purchases without the proper test drive so to speak. well ladybell the features I would like to see in 2.2 is flash, save apps to the sd card, able to use apps that require the update to run, and your going to love this one.. netflix just imagine watching what ever you want on the go. But sadly its in the early stages but it has to be run on 2.2

bigfrank69 if someone in samsung or verizon gets ticked off because we are trying to get the update we were promised, they have no right to do so. It is because of them that we are uniting to send a message. If they did the ethical thing, we would not be going through this! I don't believe they would release the update purposely filled with bugs, that would make them look even worse than they are now.

Ok so I had left the conversation to view some other device specific forums from ATT and Verizon. My husband is a ATT customer coming from Sprint. He has the latest and greatest 4g phone and it comes with 2.2. But in reality, 4 G is not quite up to par in some areas or for some devices or for some providers even though they advertise the 4 g network. When 4G becomes more available and things progress the device he has will be capable of handling it. But already people are on those forums talking of class action law suits over the 4G not being available on a device, in and area or the like. The device just came out and already people are wanting to protest. These companies only have to have 4G in one area for their advertisement to be legit. So their complaining is lackluster as well. What I am getting at is these forums are being overwhelmed with people who somehow feel entitlements that are not documented to their benefit enough for a class action lawsuit.

GPS10, thanks for telling me what you are looking for with the update. I did not realize about the netflix opportunity. I did know that there are some apps that require 2.2 to use fully or even at all. I do have to wonder though, what apps or how many apps do you have to DL to consume your internal memory? Although with the awesome screen on this device I would say yes watching netflix would be great but considering the drain of battery and the fact that although it is a nice screen, that is what I have other electronics for, I can't see how it's worth the tactic that is being proposed. I'd surely like to know (as I am unclear) are there applications that consume so much space that you would need to use the sd card for storage?

I think these forums noted as "the community" are not very community and although I didn't much express my ability to be for the community in some recent posts due to my frustration, I'd simply like to gather good info for using the device as it currently is. THe same complaints against providers, manufacturers, operating systems and the like are prevalent throughout other forums. It's like noone can be content with patience of any kind. Accountability is no longer in the hands of the purchaser because we are too busy pointing the finger at all the other possibilities for their dissatisfaction. I hear noone say I didn't test drive this phone well enough before I bought it. I didn't check out this company well enough before I switched to them I NEVER buy anything based on an empty promise. I work with government contracts and if it isn't written, this it isn't a guarantee.Just my thoughts without all the name calling.

FaceBook is being used as a common meeting place to get our message out. There are many other places being used as a means of communication also. Not everyone that reads the{edited to comply with Terms of Service}

It didn't work for Vibrant owners. It was in the works long before the page came to be. Also with the leaks that were already out it was near completion based on XDA and other people installing the leaks. There's so many groups against any manufacturer of Android devices based on updates. It's really funny...

we cant complain about froyo, but u can go on a forum and complain about us complaining about not getting froyo? who needs to get a life here? if you dont care about it, kudos! dont hate on those that actually want the update that was promised to them 7 months ago (in fact what i'm really waiting for is the broken usb bug fix in 2.2, my mac cant read it after the dl09 update, many people have this problem). if they didnt plan on giving it to our phones, then why was it said by samsung to be"2 weeks away" last september? and not everyone has the $600 to throw at a phone whenever they want. im pretty sure facebook is an open forum for billions of people. u cant control facebook unless bigfrank69 is actually mark zuckerberg?

i find it so ironic that people are complaining that people are complaining about the update! this is too much. if you don't want to do it, don't! u've just become complacent to believe that u, the consumer, have absolutely no power over what this corporation does. that may be true, but im not ok with that. i at least would like to do what is in my power to show them that we are not complacent sheep (which, in this case, is to post some messages! the horror!). if u disagree, great! but making a forum simply to bash the facebook page is laughable to me. i mean, seriously, there is absolutely nothing to loose. and i know im not the only one, there are hundreds of thousands of people all over the internet (including this forum) that are complaining about this very issue. the goal is to harness some of that energy and direct it towards samsung instead of towards each other, in a public way that exposes samsung for their lies and poor customer service. some of us only purchased this phone becuase of the promise of 2.2. our cause is one of rallying together and taking a stand, take your negative energy and sublimate it into something that is actually useful rather than complaining that people are complaining

the usb is broken for many of us mac users, not for everyone. samsung reps told me the only way to fix it is 2.2

for those that don't, more power to u! i can tell u that i won't make a thread complaining that you are not complaining with our complaints against samsung (big frank, its all urs).

and in regards to the vibrant owners, there is no telling if the "never again" campaign is what did it. but, their update was in the same stage of development as ours, and it was released (coincedentally) the very next day after samsung was humiliated publicly via twitter. we have absolutely nothing to loose by doing this, so whats the harm?

GO ahead and do what you guys want to do... It doesn't work... As I pointed out the Vibrant Facebook page was specifically there for someone to get his 15 minutes of fame. If you ever when to T-Mobile boards (He got banned), and his XDA posts it was proven he only did that to market his name, and not to get the update.

To top it off there's one for almost everyphone out there on facebook crying for updates. Not everyone will see it. The Cliq one only had 480ish people in 6 months... There was more than 200k sold of those that's less than 1% of people. Like a company is going to listen to the minority of people... Majority wins out and I am willing to bet there are more than 1% of people out there that would rather have a working update that doesn't cause problems than an update that could be riddled with problems....

Once you get your update you will complain about the bugs and what-not right after especially if it was rushed, and you can't deny that.

Lets get back on the subject of Froyo2.2 and no bad mouthing. Dont push VZW or the update will be bad, patience and waiting will give you and your phone joy for years to come
