I dropped my phone and cracked the screen anyone know how to get it fixed.
similar situation happened with my wife's S3 as well. Her LCD is broked and digitizer (touch funcitionality) went out as well.
Looked around local repair shops and they charged about $300 (Bought the phone for $50 after rebates) therefore didnt think this option would be suitable.
Then came across Samsung, and they are willing to fix the LCD and Digitizer for only $135. Only downside to that is they will take 2 weeks after you ship to send it back to you. But its cheaper option compare to going to the local vendors.
BTW that $135 will cover parts, labor and shipping charges. This will although void your warranty with Verizon but at least you will get warranty from Samsung. Local vendors charged $100 for LCD replacement, and another $179 for Digitizer replacement. Total of $279 on average
I went with this option as this seemed best and had a back up phone for my wife to use for the time being. Hope it helps.
If you have insurance on the phone through Asurion, you can get it replaced for the deductible (varies by device). But since you are asking here, I am assuming you do not have insurance coverage.
purduejatt has done the research for you on repair options. If you have a spare phone or a friend's you can borrow while yours is out for repair, sending it to Samsung sounds like the best option (and least expensive).
If you are close to an upgrade, and the phone is still usable, you can wait it out.
Same thing just happened to me! It took me so long to figure how to fix my phone, I want to help others in the same situation as myself (people with the insurance). My screen got cracked on my Galaxy s3... So I brought it to a local Verizon Store and spoke to a technician. She told me I was not covered for a fix or even a refurbished phone when I clearly told her I had an extended warranty, full coverage on my phone. She said I would have to pay full price for a replacement and if i did not want to pay suggested I go to the mall and see if there was a place there that can fix damaged screens. DON'T listen to them...they just want to charge you full price!! Call (888) 881-2622 instead and this will bring you to the insurance company that handles the fix. The process was quick (under 15 minutes) and the person I spoke with was extremely helpful and pleasant. I paid the replacement fee and got it the next day. WAY easier than going to the store. Hope this helps people!
This process is outlined in the terms for the insurance program. You can also visit Asurion.com to file a claim.
