With my previous phone (samsung stratosphere), once my cell phone synced up with the bluetooth in the car, the voice would go through my car speakers. I would push the phone button on the dash and just say call <<name>>. Now none of the voice will go through the car speakers/mic. It all goes through the phone, which I cannot hear at all since it is always in my purse. It all syncs up ok. All my contacts transferred to the car system. It seems like everything is ok, except it uses the phone for the sound, instead of the car system. The car is a 2010 Jetta with an advent system for the phone. Other phones still work fine in the car. It is just the Galaxy s4 that has the issue.
Can anybody assist?

Thank you for sharing your concern with us kidsandsoap. Bluetooth is my favorite feature on the Galaxy S 4 and on cars. What better way to stay connected while on the road safely. I'm eager to get this taken care of for you. Let's start with what make and model vehicle do you have? Also, what software and Android version do you have on the SGS4? Have you tested the quality of the bluetooth on another device, like an earpiece? As you share these details then we can get to the root issue and get this resolved.
Thank you...

I have a volkswagen jetta, 2010
android version is 4.2.2 - I am not sure which software you mean? Is it the Bluetooth Share? It is the software that comes pre-installed. I have not downloaded anything else.
Thank you,
Julie

Thanks for the reply kidsandsoap. I recommend visiting your car's manufacturer website for bluetooth vehicle compatibility. It sounds like you are already able to establish a bluetooth connection with the device; therefore, it is likely it is a relationship between the new phone and your car. Each device may respond differently in each car and may only have limited functionality.

I know this isn't helpful but we drive a Honda accord and I have 1 S4 and 2 S3's and they all work correctly with the vehicle But have you tried to Unpair the phone and re-pair it? have you gone into the phone go to Bluetooth settings tap on your car's paired Item while (may show if not linked as well) linked to the car and see if there is a check box or two you may want to tap on to turn on.These are Call Audio or Media Audio with these turned off there is no permission to do what you seek

I have unpaired and repaired. I deleted the connections on both the car and on the phone and repaired. They seem to link fine and the car was able to download all my connections.
The call audio is always turned on after they connect ot each other. Sometimes the media audio is.
Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks for completing great troubleshooting steps kidsandsoap. Please ensure and share if you are running build number JDQ39.I545VRUAME7. Have you completed a factory reset here http://vz.to/14dDPcl ? If not, I suggest backing up the device and trying the reset. Please keep me posted. Thank you.
