can battery explode? Have one swollen now.

Bought new battery for Samsung Note 3 a few months ago and soon noticed short battery life. Yesterday we saw that the screen was partially popped out of frame. We opened the battery compartment and noticed that the battery was VERY swollen. We took it out and put it outside of the house. Is this a common problem?

A swollen battery is a malfunctioning battery. It should be disposed of as it will ruin your phone. It is not a common problem however it is not unheard of either. Make sure you use OEM batteries, that will reduce the possibility of getting a badly manufactured battery.

Thank you. The battery came from Samsung Outlet store. Glad to hear it is NOT a common problem.

I would return it to the store for a replacement or your money back. Please remember to never throw batteries of any kind in the garbage. (my public service announcement for today)
