I have work LAN/wi-fi that is PEAP but my new s7 will not connect. I've connected on other samsung/android phones but not the S7. I exchanged the S7 but the new one won't connect either. they both connected to home wi-fi and hotspot and the verizon store wi-fi. I've cleared the partition cached. installed all updates. reset phone and started over. no joy... work IT can't help because they only support work phones which are all Apple.

Does the work wifi require any MAC address authentication?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Using Wifi is a great way to limit your data usage. Can you tell me more what happens whne you try to connect to that wifi network?

I just get a message "connecting..." but it never gets to "connected". I talked with work IT guys and they think something generically on the phone isn't set correctly (even though I've tried this now with two S7's - neither worked). Our side never shows an authentication attempt. They wonder if there is a issue with encryption type.
They've said we're WPA2-enterprise/802.1x EAP; EAP method is PEAP; encryption type is AES and authentication method is secured passework (EAP-MSCHAP vs). But I just get "connecting..." I've tried several other android and apple phones and they work but neither Galaxy S7 worked.

in_new_mexico,
Thanks for the additional details. That's definitely odd that this continues to happen especially since another user utilizes very similar settings and is able to connect. Are you aware if the device is up to date? Check for software updates by going into Settings, System Updates, & Check for new system update.

The phone is fully up to date. Since I bought it 2 updates have come out both listing WiFi issues as some of the fixes. No.joy for my phone. Haven't any other s7 users on this network so far so is 0 for 2 for connectivity.

in_new_mexico, your time and efforts are certainly appreciated. Let's delve in a bit deeper to get this resolved. Sometimes when a connection isn't maintaining via Wifi, it's because an update may be needed for the Wireless router especially since the Operating System to phones are always being updated. For example, my Droid Turbo 2 wouldn't connect to my router after it received the Marshmallow update. I also had a similar connection issue with bluetooth speakers (a Bose Soundlink and UE Boom that I had to update via my PC). Have you made sure that your Wireless router is running the latest firmware? You can usually confirm the firmware version on the router manufacturer's website.

Unfortunately, we're talking about a wi-fi network that covers several square miles and supports over a thousand people. Becuase the only three phones that haven't been able to connect are all three Samsung Galaxy S7's on the Verizon network they're positive the issue with the Verizon overlay. So waiting for a verizon update. coincidentally the network is going to have some work done later this month and so I'll try to connect afterward.
