delayed text message and voice mail notifications for both of our phones (in network/in town/at home)

delayed text message and voice mail notifications for both of our phones (able to use the phones during the delay-for both phone and internet with no problems), did a reset and uninstall/reinstall with no luck. repair wants us to "track" the problem, carrying around a notebook to write down when we miss calls/texts, who it's from, how long it takes to show up etc, we provided examples, but still no luck...any ideas? happened shortly after lollipop upgrades

when we are finally notified, it also sometimes notifies of old voicemails, as if they were new-
