the time on my note 4 is displaying the wrong time. its an hour faster then the correct time. went to work too early and missed an hour of sleep which is alot since i dont get enough sleep anyways. whats going on and is there a fix?
Lets get your device back to correct time! May I ask if the isssue is fixed after a soft reset on the device? If this does not resolve the issue, I suggest ensuring that automatic date and time is selected. ( Settings > Date and Time ) If it is selected I suggest disabling and then enabling. This happened to me and my friend Rhonda this morning also.
what is a soft reset? i tried turning my phone off then on again but didnt work. i had the automatic time enabled so just now tried disabling it and enabling it like you mentioned but that also didnt work. i also forgot to mention that it goes back to normal time when i am not at home. when i return home it goes back to the wrong time
Im having this issue now on my note 4 as well.
I'm having this issue this morning as well. Got to work an hour early and I'm pretty pissed off. A soft reset does not fix this.
I'm having the same issue as well. Luckily, my alarm and weather app had the right time.
Same issue for me on Note 5. I upgraded from the Note 2 on Tuesday and never had this issue before. Alarm set for 4:45 am went off at 3:45 am and the clock kept the incorrect time until I left my house.
I then got to work more than an hour early and was livid to see the time on my desktop (I work the early shift in IT so I'm the only one there.) I figured it was something I had messed up somehow so I headed to my first onsite 2.5 hours away. During the drive I connected the phone to a cradle so I could watch for changes. The time changed over a dozen times in the 2.5hr commute.
I called Verizon and the tech told me it's my fault even though time setting and time zone are both set to automatic. Soft reset did not fix the issue. Only disabling the automatic time settings or shutting off mobile date fixes it so it's obviously coming from Verizon's network.
Two times this week the time was incorrect by an hour. It was between 6-8 am. By 8 am the time corrected itself.
miss_em Our apologies for not explaining what a soft reset is. However, you are already on track ! It simply means to restart the phone or power off and remove the battery (if applicable). Please tell us the software version the Note 4 is running. This can be found under Settings, About phone, and Build number.

bjenison,
Having the correct time is extremely important. No one likes to be late or in your case extremely early. Thank you for ensuring all your settings are correct. Have you tried tor emove your SIM casr for at least 2 minutes? Then place back in the device. Did this happen as soon as you activated the new device? Keep us posted. Currently experiencing the same issue as well as all others at my work who all have issued Verizon devices. So far the only remedy is to disable the network based time zone and manually selecting the correct timezone (CST keeps changing to Eastern in my case).
I'm having the same issue, but it's an hour behind. A soft restart fixes it temporarily, but then it happens again later. I can't be an hour late to work or anything else. The build number on my phone is LRX22C.N910VVRU2BOG5
Let's make sure you have the right number displaying all the time AlicRudolf. My phone is my main source for time so I know the importance of having the correct time display. What zip code are you currently located in? When did this time start changing for you? Is your software up to date?

Answers below:
What zip code are you currently located in?
46321 and 46324 are my main areas where I am experiencing this yet it happens in others as well.
When did this time start changing for you?
This was noticed within the past week or so by myself as well others at work (all Verizon work issued phones).
Is your software up to date? Yes, according to what is available as well as what is reported on the Verizon Software Upgrade Assistant (Version OG5).
I attempted to notify support through via phone as well as online chat, but due to being a business account and not having my name directly attached I was not allowed further assistance even though I was clearly stating that it is an issue impacting multiple users in a certain area. Normally with a case such as this it points towards a network related issue and not device since disabling network based time and time zones resolves the issue. Coming from tech field as well as managing several thousand phones myself this screams that the network team should look into this.
AlixRudolf, thanks for providing that additional detail. I wasn't able to find any service tickets for that incorrect time issue in those areas. I'm actually from Hammond and I'm there 2-3 days a week and often go into those neighboring cities for appointments and such and I've not encountered this nor have my other lines that reside in that area full time. Since this is the Note 4 thread, is this only occuring on that model device? Also, if the SIM card is removed and reinserted to get the carrier update to the network does the issue go away or come back?

This exact issue is also happening to me and my friend who also has a Note 4. Others we work with who do not have a Note 4 are not experiencing the time change issue. Is there any resolution to this other than to manually force CST? This just started yesterday, which is odd because nothing has changed (at least not on our end). If I do a soft reset it will display the correct time for a little while and then revert back to thinking I am EST. Very frustrating. Any updates would be appreciated!
We want to do all that we can to ensure that the correct time is properly displayed on your Note 4. Rest assured as we will do all that we can to get this resolved. Do you get this behavior when the device is in safe mode? Does the clock display the same time on and off wifi? As you share the details then we can proceed.

Hi,
I don't even know what safe mode is so I can't answer that part of your question.
Regardless if it's wifi or not it will switch to eastern standard time, even though I'm central.
When I restart my phone it will switch back to the correct time but shortly thereafter it goes back to EST.
What has changed in the last month that would cause this extremely inconvenient issue to occur?
I Have encountered the same problem on my Note 4. It just started for me all of a sudden today. The time displays 1 hour earlier than the actual time. I attempted all suggested troubleshooting steps in this entire thread with no success. Are there other steps I can try that are not listed in this forum? Thank you in advance for any support you can provide.
