All my incoming calls go to voice mail. I have checked all the settings and still can get it to work right.

I used Verizon customer support via a land line. They walked me through a process and the problem was resolved.
It seems that it had to do with my previous carrier not completely releasing my phone, or that Verizon hadn't set up my phone completely. My phone calls were going to my old device along with text messages. In either case it is now resolved and I got an email notification from my previous carrier that I have been released from them.
Dial *73 and hit send, you should hear a couple of beeps.
