how can I transfer text messages from phone to computer?

I am trying to download text messages from a Galaxy Note 3 to my computer and they are in the wrong format.  Can anyone help with this.  Thank You

You might try one of the text backup and restore apps in the Play Store that also provides for printing your texts, like SMS Backup and Restore.
