I have topped out my plan and need to delete data, since I cannot afford a higher bill!!
Hi Dynwrld, I can understand using up your data allowance is a concern. Let me help you out to avoid a higher bill. Please bear in mind that since you have a Smartphone, there is no option is available to remove a data plan. You can change your data plan to increase your data allowance preventing a data overage charge of $15.00 per GB. Here’s a link to the information on how to add to your data allowance http://tiny.cc/n9ys9x Please make sure you back date the data plan to the beginning of your current bill cycle. This helps to avoid a prorated data allowance and charges that also can result in data overage.

Are you are referring to lowering your data plan? To do that, all you need to do is to log into your My Verizon account, and select Manage Plan. There, you will have the option of lowering your data tier. Make sure that you keep in mind, that depending on your billing cycle, may incur additional charges. this is because of proration and your current usage. Say you have the $80.00 12GB plan, and want to lower it to the 6GB plan, and you you've already used, say, 8 of your current 12GB allotment, amass have 10 days left in your current billing cycle. You will have the option when you make the change, to have it to take affect immediately, back dated to the beginning of the current billing cycle or have it start on your next billing cycle. If you choose back date, your data will need prorated from the beginning of your current cycle. If you've already used 8GB to date, and you switch to the 6GB plan, you are already 2GB due to the proration. If you choose immediate, you will incur prorate through the end of the current cycle, plus a month in advance. You can choose to have it started on the beginning of your next cycle n.a. It is slightly easier to add more data days during a cycle than decreasing.
