how to boost reception

The Fascinate does everything great except the one thing that I need a phone to do - make and receive calls! I don't have any bars at my home and office. My old Razr got excellent reception at my office, so I know its not in a dead spot, like my home is. Any suggestions on how to boost reception?

Hi hope your day is well. Try doing a preferred roaming update:

The following are the steps you need to take to complete the update:

Power on your Verizon Wireless phone.
Dial *228 from your home digital coverage area, followed by the SEND key.
When prompted, press option #2, to update your phones roaming capabilities (This process may take up to 2 minutes).
Once completed, a confirmation message will be played, and a message will display on the phone screen.

my service sucks now also, I have a lot of dropped calls now too. They ask me for too much money for nothing? No service, Dropped calls, Freezing phone, not able to answer or make calls at times, ect..................As much money as they charge, everything should be on point.
