iPhone to Galaxy S4 not receiving text messages

I recently switched from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S4. Now when I send a text message to an iPhone user, they are receiving my text messages but I can only get their responses on my iPad (iMessaging). Anyone know how I can correct this to get their responses on my new Galaxy S4?

It sounds like they are sending via iMessages. Try turning off iMessages on the ipad.

I had the same problem.

1. Log onto Apple and deregister your phone number from Apple.

2. Apple users who send you txts need to go to settings, messages, and choose "Send as SMS"

This should fixe it.

My son just bought the galaxy and I have the iphone. he was not getting my text messages. Some of the messages boards say to unregister his old iphone from the apple support. That's nonsense. Here's what we did. Turn off imessages from your old iphone. Then make sure your friends that have iphones go to 1-Messages; then turn ON send as SMS. This sends SMS when imessages is unavailable. See if it works for you.

i recently switched from iphone to droid maxx and i FINALLY figured it out. everyone was telling me to unregister it from icloud, itunes, apple. going to apple support was 0 help and verizon 0 help. it shouldn't have to be this way, but all i did was change the password on my apple ID and i started receiving messages again from iphone users. i hope this helps someone because everyone complaining about the issue isn't helping those who need it fixed. obviously verizon, apple and droid need to have a talk.
