need help with going over data usage!

I have a galaxy s4 mini and On my plan I have 8 gb of data. Some how I have been going over my limit the past couple months! My plan restats evry 10 of the month and so far it says ive used 98%. But the thing is I have had my mobile data OFF and have only been using wifi but on my Verizon app my meter keeps going up!!

I have check the usuage on my device and it says I used about 0.22gb and the my verizon app says 7.983 gb used! Honestly I berly even use my mobile data for that same reason ! I also have background data restricted to see if it helps but nothing works! Can anyone helpe understand what is going on please !!

Hmm is both Wi-Fi and Mobil Data indicators on at the same time?

If so you might turn off the Mobile Data which is Located in your user settings, just to see if there is any change.. when your Wi-Fi is on it should disengage the mobile Data but on your s4 it may not..

One thing you can do as well is make sure that there are not any apps running in the Back Ground, tap and hold the Double box button located on the right side of your home button on your s4 it should reveal any apps running in the B.G. with a swipe to right or left it will stop the app from running..

Another thing you can do is if there is a setting for it, over night you can set your s4 to disengage all data while your sleeping and when you awake it should be re-engaged and ready for when your start your Day..

And you might give this app a try it System Panel App it's a really app it shows what apps are running and what apps are not and it give a Visual of what your CPU's are running, & much more it also show the temps of the Battery and CPU but it is a good tool for knowing what is running and what is not..
