If you don't have a Verizon phone (and Verizon service available), you can't use the verizon update. The updates are released by the device manufacturer to the wireless carrier. The carrier then sends it out to it's own subscribers ONLY. When Sprint released the S3 update, verizon customers could't use it and vice versa.
