Since the Jelly Bean update, when i recieve an email, the S3 will no longer play the notification sound. This is with the corporate email app already on the phone. i tried deleting the account setting up a new one, tried using an MP3 and the preinstalled ringtones or audio files already loaded on the phone.
Also tried clearing out the cache.
however with the text notification sound, it will play a sound but only half of it, no matter what sound file is being used.
Also the Vibrate function just quit working all together. for phone calls and for notifications.
attached are two screenshots of the settings.
I have seen a lot of topics in the forums about email problems since the update. i have no problems like those. i recieve everthing ok.
I have to sit the phone close to where i am looking to watch for the blue LED to start flashing to tell me i have a message.
anyone else having these problems?
any solutions?
Thanks.

OK this is going to sound funny but this fixed my problem with this. If you go into messaging, settings, and unchecked delete old messages. It actually did fix it and apparently is a known bug according to other forums.

I am having the same issues. The email notification works only if I reboot the phone every day, however, text message notification only plays half the sound if it plays at all. I've tried taking the battery and SIM card out and putting back in as one user suggested but that didn't help in my case.
I also get email notification of the same email message over and over again even if I've deleted the note. Frustrating!

Thanks! Funny as it sounds, it worked for me too.
