notify if calendar does not sync

I go along ok for a couple of weeks, and then notice that all phone entries are not sync'd into the google calendar account set up and selected on my account settings. After fussing for a while with refreshes on both ends, I see that the account setting for calendar reads "last sync [several days ago]"

how do I get the S3 phone or Samsung calendar app to notify with an error message if calendar does not sync?

The first step is to ensure that you are creating the events in your Gmail calendar so it will sync your Gmail account.

Yes, absolutely.

That is a separate problem that I have to watch for. The last used calendar will show up when I open a new event, even after app and phone restarts, and then one day then the samsung 'mycalendar' will show up as the default. Defeats the purpose of automation.

Back to this thread:

1. There is only one calendar being populated.

2. Irrespective of the calendars used, the calendars in the phone stop syncing but the only way that I would know is to navigate to the settings / accounts to see the message mentioned previously, which reads: "last sync [several days ago]"

Background sync is turned on?

Have you checked your Gmail account sync in the phone's settings to determine if the calendar is the only portion of the account not syncing?

Does unchecking and rechecking the check box force a sync of the calendar?

Calendar only error. Mail drive contacts photos all current sync

activity.

Uncheck/recheck returned the same status msg
