phone will not download pictures to my pc

I have tried everything that has been suggested in order to attempt to download my pictures from my Galaxy S6 phone to either of my PC's and

nothing is working.  Can someone please help me?  All everyone tells me is that is should be automatic once I plug in the USB cable to my

phone and PC but that is not happening.

Unplug the USB cable and try again (with a different USB port, if you have one).  It's not an icon, it's a notification.  See if this helps:

Once you connect the phone and computer via the USB cable, have you tried pulling down the notification shade, tapping where it says USB Charging, changing it to File Transfer, and then 'dragging and dropping' files from the DCIM folder on the phone to the computer?

i can't get it to move off of "Phone charging" even with my phone at 100%.

i have no idea what I have turned off somewhere.

I've done all the turn off reset steps.

As noted earlier, you might try unplugging the phone from the computer and then plugging it back in again (and maybe try a different computer port).  There should be two related notifications when you pull down the notification shade:  USB Charging and Charging.  Tap the one that says USB Charging and you should then get a pop-up where you can change it from charging only (the default) to File Transfer.

thank you.

i've run all those.

it used to work just fine.

so when i pulled down the notifications, it gives me "phone charging"

i click on it and nothing happens.

if i hold down long enough it give me system UI

don't get what I am missing.

You're clicking the wrong notification; it's not the one labeled Charging, it's the one that says USB Charging.

Thanks.

I understand what you are saying.

The USB option isn't pulling up.

I get irritated by the phone draining the battery and updating behind my back. drives me nuts.

so my guess is that I turned something off or put down "do not allow".  because the USB option isn't coming up. Turned debugging on and it isn't coming up.

on my computer it keeps saying "USB device not recognized.

driving me nuts.

Yes I do not even see USB Charging or a USB Icon listed.
