Getting "DQA Keeps stopping" message after i did the security update. Anyone know how to fix? I have a S8 Plus
We appreciate everyone's patience while the team worked on providing us a fix. As most of you have noticed, S8/S8+ users who are having this issue should be and will be notified by Galaxy Apps for an upgrade (over the air) to address the issue.

I can't wait to have my own S8, but can assure you this was not an experience that we wanted our customers to have when completing the software update on their new devices. Updates are intended to improve the function of your phones and at this time we have been investigating the issue. As soon as we receive updates we will post them.
However, through out this discussion many of you have posted steps for a temporary fix. We appreciate everyone's input and demonstrates how powerful this community is.
Here are a few steps that can be completed and have been effective for some while we work on a fix.
1. Check Device performance Mode Settings > Performance Mode > Set to Optimized
2. Clear DQA App Data Settings > Apps > App Manager > Click the 3 dots at the top right of the screen > Click show system apps > Find DQA > Click Force Stop > Than click Storage > Manage Storage > Clear Data > Than reboot the device
3. Disabling allowing background data for the DQA application. Go to the App Manager under settings > Use the drop-down menu in the top right to enable "Show System Apps" > Find DQA from the app list > Select "Data Usage" > Disable "Allow background data usage"
Turning Wi-Fi also seems to fix as well.
We appreciate your patience.
New to the S8 and Android. How do I reboot this device?

To VZW for their response to us:
#1. Agree: When on high performance the error comes up, but I'll still
testing that. only had a few and wifi is off and have not had the issue in
error for the past hour.
#2. NO: I can't clear the cache. When I go to the "manage storage"
crashes when pushed.
#3. Debate: Still not sure if that works.

hold down the power button (on the right side) then you will see the option
to power off, reboot, Emergency mode (no idea what that does)
What worked for me with the DQA problem is I just opened a different browser than the one you ordinarily use. The problem went away.
Looks like Verizon only shows up to edit the comments here but not to acknowledge the problem or to give an answer.
Not good to have a top of the line phone (S8+) and give you error messages the very first day, SAD!
I tried everything suggested here other than the things that would impair my phone (battery set to MED, turn off WiFi, etc.).
Finishing Bixby setup seems to have done the trick. Swipe left from the home screen and finish the setup process. I haven't seen the error message since.
Reset to Factory default to save your sanity
I just chatted with Samsung Support. I wanted to pin them down and did everything I could. I'm not really this mean of a person :-) But I wanted answers. Here's the chat:

Factory reset is the only thing that will fix it. No sense in beating your head against the wall trying everything else.
I did a Factory Data Reset yesterday.
Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/ghei36>
I reset mine back to factory default. Then I reset it and put all my stuff back in. So far no issues.
I agree with all of the above. After installing a few apps on my Wife's S8 I chatted with VSW Friday night and they said to do the Factory Reset. So far it has worked. I have the S8+ and rather than doing the reset and reinstalling all my stuff, I'm waiting for the real fix. Hopefully it will come soon.
Ive found a way to disable this system app via adb. Here is step by step.
1.Enable developer options by going to about phone and tapping build number 7 times
2. go to developer options and enable usb debugging
3. install adb onto your windows computer. ( google it theres many different way,)
4.Once you have adb installed go to adb folder and right click and open command window here.
5. type adb devices
6. phone should prompt you with message select always accept.
7. type adb devices again and verify connection.
8. type adb shell
9. type pm disable-user com.samsung.android.dqagent
10 all done. you should be able to check dqa agent under system apps on phone and it will be disabled.
hope this helps everyone
Finished bixby setup, error gone. It's the only thing that worked for me.
Darn it all...I don't want to do a factory reset and redo all the apps and
logins. bugger.

I think the real story here is that Samsung probably forced this update to the carriers to disable the remapping of the Bixby button. It's a business decision that probably caused this update not to get the standard QA testing.
Now I'm getting this message all the time. I shouldn't have to disable wifi (and use more data), neither should I have to disable data usage for the application, or adjust the phone power profile so background data usage for DQA is stopped.
What's disappointing is that, if this was an issue that an iPhone had it would be resolved already. Instead Samsung has to package it up and then Verizon has to do QA testing on it (This time).
I totally agree but problems do happen. Samsung is working on the fix.
Some people at VZ don't know about the issue but they can easily verify
your issues with their resources. The VZ guy I talked to was WonderfuL, he
did not know about it but within minutes realized there was no fix yet.
Thankfully he was on the technical side and knew what he was talking
about. I also warned I may go over my data and expect not to have to pay
for it due to the Samsung/Verizon problem. He understood and I won't be
charged.
I realize this is FRUSTRATING for all of us but I am convinced it is being
worked on. Samsung technical help seems to be a bit behind VZ.
All the reboots into the two different boot controllers does not work.
#DQA #DQAerror #galaxyS8
I wonder how much of this was caused by Verizon I just read what they did to Bixby
http://www.androidcentral.com/sorry-verizon-users-bixby-even-more-crippled-galaxy-s8
I purchased 2 S8+'s. I updated one and began getting the DQA message, about 2 every minute only on that one updated phone. I decided to go down to the Verizon store to have them resolve this. They spent 45 min on the phone with THEIR technical support and basically went through the same list of solutions we've seen posted. None of them would work. Additionally, I had a Samsung GearS watch that would not install (Error Code 5).
The other phone WITHOUT the update worked fine, no errors and the same watch installed fine. I asked them to wipe the phone so I could start over without the update. Several technicians in the store told me that would NOT work. They stated the update is not removed by restoring the phone to the factory image. I found this difficult to believe, so I said, "Fine, give me another phone!" For whatever reason, and I don't care what the reason is at this point, this phone is not performing as it should, you can't fix it, so as far as I'm concerned it's defective and I demand a replacement. They provided me with a new replacement and transferred all of the apps I spent 6 hours previously installing, the watch installed properly and I left the store with a properly working phone. Verizon solved my problem! I am now, once again happy and WILL NOT allow the software update to install until Samsung corrects this. I fail to understand why Verizon isn't hammering Samsung about this AND, WHY they are still pushing out this defective update. It's not a smart business stragegy in my opinion as it's hurting Samsung's image. If I ran Samsung I would order this update to be stopped IMMEDIATELY until it's fixed. Also, it doesn't appear the Verizon tech support in their stores are aware of this either. Each day this is not resolved means MORE unhappy and frustrated customers for this product. It's absolutely AMAZING why more immediate action isn't being done to stop this update. Simply amazing.... But Verizon nicely provided me a new phone without the update and I am now happy again. The folks in the store were great to work with!
Everyone is all about I phones. And yet here you are with a Galaxy S8. Because I phones are has beens. Sales on iPhones continue to drop. It'll get fixed. Samsung doesn't write the Android OS. They just make the hardware.
Verizon just sells phones and accessories. They don't write software. They don't make hardware. It was a Security Update to the Nougat OS that caused it.
Factory Data Reset will solve the issue. I FDRed my phone two days ago, and haven't had an issue. They aren't pushing the update anymore. Because I haven't gotten a notice that an update is available yet.
I disabled background communications for the DQA app. It helped... somewhat. I still get the error message once every few hours. Samsung really needs to push a fix.
Then who wrote the Verizon software on my phone ?? As far as the last update if it was just a security patch it should not cause any other issues with the phone
Any time an update comes out, it's written and pushed AFTER the hardware is designed, manufacturered, and has the original OS installed. It's an alteration of the original operating system. Bugs happen with updates. Pretty sure Verizon doesn't write software for Android.
Great summary.
I may just do a factory reset and redo all the apps, arggg.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
As mentioned yesterday, I wanted to make sure that I advised everyone on any updates that we did received to fix the current DQA pop up on your new S8 and S8 + .
At this time our team is working on a permanent fix, however as most of the community members have suggested, a Factory Data Reset will resolve the issue at this time. Factory Data Reset (Powered On) - Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ | Verizon Wireless .
I Reset the phone no more issues .
Pain in the butt but worth it
I'm supprised that more people hasn't gone to a Corporate Verizon dealer and handed them the phone to fix if they can't figure out how to make the DQA quit posting messages.
People know there is a problem.
They Have posted ways to turn it off.
Verizon didn't write the software..
I had the message as well. For a while I used the Battery MID "tron" to prevent the message. For the most part it was ok. But other issues led me to the factory reset. It has been quiet so far.
It was a MAJOR INCONVENIENCE that has cost me several hours to get my phone back to where I could use it.
They pushed p it a system update this morning. Fingers crossed it worked.
I have not seen an update come through yet.
And the VZ update page does not report any updates.
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/software-updates/
Ditto. When I have my phone check for system updates it responds that I have the latest, which is the update that caused this DQA problem in the first place.
Just received an update regarding the DQA. Hopefully it's the fix, but I haven't had problems with mine for a few days since I forgot the Wi-Fi and reconnected to the Wi-Fi.
Could you please tell us more about the update and how it came and all about the update.

Pulled down the screen on my S8+ a few minutes after you posted.
Seen a update.
I said go.
It was fast and simple.
No sign that it even updated.
Wish I would have updated when it popped up this morning. Now it is gone
and I still have the error @vzwsupport said to talk to samsung...the circle
of "not my fault, why me.
I haven't seen an update.
I post the above chat from Samsung and then find this on Android Central:
Android Authority article regarding the update:

Android Central article about the update:
http://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-issues-urgent-update-fix-device-quality-agent-error
I got it a few mins ago. was quick. the Wifi, & Bluetooth back on, and the battery power saving mode set to off ... so far so good.
I still have not gotten the "urgent update"
Is verizon blocking the update?
I spoke with verizon and was told there will not be an update til mid-May.
I just got off the phone with samsung and the rep indicated that the fix has been released to all the carriers.
Therefore, verizon is blocking their customers from receiving the fix
I have got nothing either....
It is getting worse. I have tried all the bandaid fixes and nothing has worked
Latest suggestion from Verizon: return the current phone to the verizon store and exchange it for a new S8
I just got the update from the galaxy app store. I will post if it works
Hi all. We all have access to the update But It's hidden. I was wo wondering why i didn't get it too. It works.
You have to go to Settings, apps, apps manager all apps, galaxy apps and then manage the app notifications. They are turned off by default.
Turn them all on and then restart your phone. Then in a few minutes, Pull down the menu shade and the update notification will be there.
Make sure all phone notifications are on and not blocked
Was about to do something desperate when I saw Verizon had FINALLY pushed out the Samsung fix. Hope everybody gets it very soon and more importantly, I hope it works.
I just got the update, reboot and no errors...so far . Attaching
picture hope you can see it.
No dice here. I've tried forcing a system update, turned on all Galaxy Apps notifications, and poked around at the Galaxy Apps store. I'm curious why Samsung didn't just make this something users could find and download directly from the store. Hopefully something will come through today--I'm not super jazzed about going back to the Verizon store to wait in line for two hours again.
I wonder if Kies or smart switch would have that update
Samsung Smart Switch: Transfer Contacts, Music and More I Samsung US
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
Thanks--I'll give that a shot when I get home.
The update automatically shows up as a notification. I was unable to find
the update in the Galaxy apps. After it was installed there was no record
of it in the Galaxy apps store or history. It just seems to randomly
appear. I wish there was a way for us to manually go after it as well.
Samsung started pushing a Security Update yesterday morning. I canceled it, not knowing if it was a good download. But I talked to VZ Tech Support. And they said it was. No way to force it or find the download. Samsung will push it again.
I just received the update again. No issues yet.
Thanks a bunch. Yes it was blocked and unblocked it. Update appeared so now hoping that fixed it.
I did a factory reset and have had no issues since then. Should I still
run the patch when I receive notification?

Hey Verizon... Just so you know. I got the DQA patch for my S8+, and it didn't fix the problem.
My wife is having the same issue with the "dqa stopping" and I have tried the following fixes and still no luck. When will Samsung or Verizon actually release the uodate for everyone to get?

Samsung released an update Tuesday (4/25):
I installed the patch it didn't work. Luckily I downloaded an app to
disable DQA. After the patch failed, I just disabled it again.
Downloaded. Installed. Didn't work.
