"no SD inserted" now shows but SD in tray

S7 device upgrade April 2017. Micro SD from Razr put in S7 and readable. Just noticed "SD card Not Inserted" in My Files display, but MicroSD still in tray & has not been removed since purchase. Last software update (G930VVRU4BQG1) applied 8/3/17. Do not know if MicroSD card visible between software updates; I know there have been at least 3 if not more updates done since April purchase. I have reinserted MicroSD & rebooted multiple times and still MicroSD not found by my S7. Please help as soon as possible!!

I know it's too late now for you, but what happened probably could have been avoided had you un-mounted and removed the card before you did the OS update.

@jrh4054 Are you saying that microSD files are obliterated and no longer retrievable? Ugh!! Vzw suggested I reinsert mSD in my old phone to see if its readable. Then I'll ask Samsung.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I've always understood that removing the card prior to doing major OS updates was the thing to do. I don't know what the reason is. You can try reading the card from a computer to make sure it's okay. The card probably came with an adaptor for the computer.
