return Nexus by may 11 2012

Here is what we should do, set a date of May 10th 2012 for Verizon/Google/Samsung whoever to come up wit an ICS update for nexus to fix signal, call drop issues, volume issues etc , if come May 11 we do not get the update, return this piece of junk, I am sure they will be thrilled if this happens in some respectable number ...

I am returning my nexus on may 11th if no update happens. This is just sad this phone was a bust from day 1.

Strangely enough, my Nexus works just fine. I have no reason to return a phone that works.

My husband and I just got them yesterday and they hardly work at home. I have to keep the thing by a window to receive a call. I am really hoping the update comes with in my 14 days so I can see if it helps any. Other wise I will be returning it and trying the razr i guess

Yeah I am really really hoping they update and I can see if that improves things any. I live in the sticks so not looking for anything amazing I just need the thing to ring at least. We are coming from an iphone4 and DX and those both worked at least.

I agree something needs to change. Twice now I was on the phone when the audio went dead and the verizon reps had to call me back right away. They both even created tickets for the issue. When's it gonna change?

I'm probably going to pay the kick in the junk early term fee just to leave, this is beyond ridiculous. Even the Google engineers are pissed, makes them look bad. I can't believe I switched from T-Mobile for THIS. I pay MORE for much worse service and a phone that loses signal EVERY TIME I pick it up to text. (Second phone, returned the first one for same issues) I LOVED my Nexus One and G1. SO SAD it took so long to sell the HSPA+ phone on Google play. =(

Why oh why did Verizon have to get it first?! I can't express how angry I am and how hard it was to not post curse words here. This is a sad time for Nexus lovers indeed.

The rarity, I wish i could have kept mine. You must live in a larger city or are at least consistent with travel. I travel too much and cannot live with the phone. I really did like it though. I simply could not drop any more calls with my boss, sometimes 5 or six times a day....

I love the Razr Maxx! Its faster by a long shot and, of course, the battery life....wow! 2 and a half days of fairly heavy use before a recharge! Lovin' it! It will get ICS anyway and maybe it will work well by then...

I'm being sent my 3rd Nexus since I originally purchased this piece of junk on the 1st day it was available. Biggest mistake I made. Should have gone with the iPhone instead. How do I get Verizon to let me hand back this phone and give me the iPhone? I tried calling Samsung Customer Support today. They said I'd have to send it in to them and they's "repair" it. The customer support dude said this is the first call he's received complaining about this specific phone. Anyone believe him?

No don't believe them. I had a mailing label sent to me from Samsung to send my phone back to them. They said they would "repair it". They also told me it was the first they heard of the problem. That was mid February. Hmmmmm.....I called Verizon since I bought the phone from them.....they told me don't send it back to Samsung, send it back to Verizon because they are ultimately responsible. That was two months ago. I still have a phone that doesn't work as a phone because I have been promised an update since the day the phone was released. This whole thing smells. Google, Samsung and Verizon...........too many cooks in the kitchen. Each one doesn't have an idea what the other one is doing. I have gotten a real taste of customer service at it's worst. Just tell them something.....Sickening........I should have listened to my kids...........GET AN I PHONE.

agree, just read an Australian guy stating that even with 4.04 update, Nexus signal still sucks, so i guess returning seems to be the only option at this point.

"Have updated my Galaxy Nexus to 4.0.4 on yakju (in Australia), the bad news is that the phone's reception still sucks. I replaced an el cheapo LG P500 with this Nexus and the LG had some better features and way better reception, VERY disappointed with the Nexus. The big screen is nice, but totally useless without phone service. "

Do yourselves a favor and send your samsung phones back to samsung. They actually fix problems. Verizon does not. Sent my Nexus back for signal issues. They sent me back a new phone with a newer hardware version. Working much better.

I gave up on the Nexus.

I really liked the phone and ICS, but the data connectivity was terrible.

I tried 2 different Nexus phones within the last 10 days and the data connectivity was spotty at best. My wife's RAZR (or my co-workers Rezound) would get 4G signals and I would barely have a 3G connection. And the phones were sitting RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER! I'm glad I fugred this out before my 14-day grace period was up. I'm now waiting for my Rezound to be delivered.

I've heard the 4.0.4 update won't fix the radios. It'll just give you more bars...your signal level is still low (by dBm reading). If you're within your return window and have bad reception, RUN to a non-Nexus phone NOW.

I got my Rezound and it's AWESOME!

In the same places I had my 2 different Nexus phone I had 4g connectivity with 3 bars!!! The Nexus had 28% of the time with NO SIGNAL and the Rezound is 0% of the time with no signal.

STAY FAR AWAY from the Nexus.

Well I should have been harder on the people in the store I guess. I went twice with in the 14 days to swap my Nexus out for something different. The guys just change my sim and some settings each time. After being out of the 14 days I am stuck with a non working phone. I have called tech support three times and go no where! All I wanted was a different phone that worked. To much to ask for 2 years I guess.

Anyways I have finally taken matters into my own hands since many calls and store visits later I am still getting zero service at home. I have a used rezound coming in the mail hopefully it gets better signal.

Sure would be nice to have had better customer service... Not sure I will be doing another 2 years after this or not if they plan to sale devices that don't work and wont still to their word of letting you pay the 30 bucks and swap the device out with in 14 days.

First OF all I am a NEW Customer also. I went to the wrong store it said VERIZON on the front. But I did not notice in Small letters. Sales Reps meaning they just sell PHONES and rip you off and never tell you all the truth about plans or even rob you by selling you a phone that you can buy on this site for 60 dollars on up depending on what you buy also Know that you can call the 611 ask for the closest site next to your home they will post it on your page here.. One more thing when you do call the 611 phone for help it will ask for your PHONE number next Your Password you set up also YOU can change that on this page if need be. Next tell them what you want and they will connect you to the correct person it takes a few min maybe two or so and Then they will help you if you have any problems with the new phone you purchase they will exchange it and if that dont work they will do it again exchange it after that they will give you a NEW phone if there is still problems Verizon will work with you but remember that the guys that sell phones the phone reps will and I know will RIP YOU OFF so NEVER GO there just call the 611 and they will tell you where to go. Ok you will be ok. Just deal with the real Verizon people there phones are fantastic. I LOVE Mine. I had to change my own because of the horror I went through with the people at the rep stores. So if you have any questions I will help you with anything you need and I do not work for Verizon I just help those who need it from experience.. Good luck and let me know if this helps you in anyway. I need to know if this will help you. I have a post on my site that shows me the closest real Verizon stores and do NOT go to the reps I promise you will be so SORRY as I was.. GOOD LUCK... NO one should be hard on anyone.. If any problems Verizon will do everything possible to help fix the problems that have happened I PROMISE that. Well I am not a new customer around 6 years with them. And I went to a Verizon store not a reseller so even bigger let down. It was clear when I was in there they guy just didn't want to take the hit or whatever it is for me getting a different phone.

I wish I saw this post before my deadline. I HATE THIS PHONE!!!! I have been on the phone with Verizon for a HUGE portion of this week and last regarding issues with : No 4G service, lost connection,backup assistance.... you name it, I went through it! This is the second one they sent to me!

I went back to my Droid X which has NEVER given me a problem and gets service in places the Nexus doesn't! I am so pissed that I spent the money on this phone! I will stick with my Droid X for now. i should have NEVER upgraded! I feel your pain!
