round led on top left doesnt light up when I get a text. and no sound for texts

I dont know what I did to my settings but when I get a text now, there is no sound and the led on top does not light up when I receive one.

I have gone in and looked at all my settings and it all seems fine.

Can anyone help me with this?

Go to Settings---Sounds and Notifications--Led Indicator, and switch to "on".
